Okay, got up at 6.30am, got all the bike and gear ready, the race start was late at 8.30am (was supposed to be 8.05am).

I had no problems during the race other than the chain comming off at one point (took a couple mins to sort out but was good otherwise). Uphills were the worst because i was carrying 50kg more than most riders. Downhills were the highlight (for the same reason uphills sucked!) and i kicked some major ass. Along the flat (most of it) i did pretty good.

My goals were
1) Finish the race
2) do more than 20km per hour so i finished it in under 2 hours

Im happy that i achieved both those!

Okay, some stats.
Race was 42km. Took 1 hour 44 mins. I averaged at 25-30km per hour. Max speed was 51km per hour (30 miles per hour).
I drunk 2 litres during the race (finished the 2L bladder right on the finish line), then drank another 2 litrs. So 4 litrs before lunch alone (thats about a gallon i think).

Sat in the spa for an hour at the local hot pools, then went to prize giving (not even a spot prize for me lol!). Then i drove the 3 hours home, the last 30 mins husband drove because i was to tired.
Stayed within my 1200 cal the entire time even without fitday (just naturally chose the right foods). That includes some carb jelly stuff i got given for free. Had an ice cream today after the race to give back some sugar, had it chocolate coated with nuts! it was awesome and yes im still within my calorie range thanks to a light ham roll for lunch and dinner.

All over it was a fricken awesome weekend. We hit the stock car races and saw a fireworks display the saturday night also - so i rode the race on sunday with only 6 hours sleep hehe :)

*OHD shakes her pom poms like a mad woman and runs around the room yelling* Dang girl! I am super impressed! That sounds awesome! I am so proud of and inspired by you. I would love to be able to do something like this, but I think I need to do a lot more strength training to prepare myself, I'm not strong enough I don't think.

You did awesome, made it to the end and met both of your goals! AND stayed within your cal range! Damn woman you are FREAKING AWESOME. You've been added to my shero list! *hugs* The pictures look great. The whole event looks like so much fun, so much energy in those pics...I can feel it!

Ohh and I LOOOOVE fireworks, so it was so cool that you got to see that.

Haha yeah i know, ive almost done it several times myself :)

I must admit - ive been increasingly unhappy though with the look, you go through fads of looking and seeing a skinnier person than before, and looking and seeing a skinnier but still very fat person.
At the moment i see a fat person still :/

Im still loosing weight and sticking with things fine, but its been 5 months or so now and im still just itching to see more - to get to the goal. Maybe im just impatient :)
Its not to far to go now before ill be seeing a lot more improvement though - once im down to 90kg/200lb im no longer really morbidly obese.

Wishes: We're all really impatient. I'm a 'just do it' kind of gal, so this .5 pounds at a time thing is really tough sometimes but it does add up in the end. Soon enough we'll all be the skinny minnies that we are striving to be and we'll look back and think that it didn't really take that long. Seeing as how I've been loading on the pounds for about 20 years now, 8 months to get it off seems pretty reasonable to me. :)

I've blabbered on but I guess I'm just trying to say that you have been working really, really hard and you should be proud of all the work you've done. You'll get to your goal, I know it!

I can echo a lot of what you're saying here. It really throws the mixed bag of thoughts at ya, I know. I'm nothing but happy and proud for you :)

It's ok to go through the mental mindsweep as long you stay on task - which you are, and I don't see you giving up anytime soon.

Onward and upward Wishy ;)

T2, Katie - absolutly!

Its just a phase - kinda like fat days and skinny days. I was lookin at some of the pics from the cycling and was thinking "God i bet the person behind me was wondering where the hell the seat went!" and "holy shit are my thighs really still *that* big?!".

One day ill look back and laugh at it! Im determined too! :D
Tomorrow im doing a weigh in - first week of nov down!

Way to go Liz! Lookit you! I wish I had something like that to shoot for...you're not just biking to get in shape, but you're going competitive too, which is awesome!
