Thoughts on training twice a day

So I'm looking to really get my body fat percentage down so I'm thinking about started to exercise twice a day. Pretty much I will get up every morning and do cardio for about 45-60minutes either stairmaster, treadmill, or elliptical at a pretty high intensity. Then three days a week, I lift at a pretty intense level as well. And finally twice a week I do Kung fu which is a pretty good workout. I'm wondering if people thing its a good idea to train twice a day, or am I just wasting my time when once a day is plenty?

Oh I'm also really watching my diet as well. My stats are I'm a male 200 cm, 97.5kg.

im no expert, but my guess is that it depends on what you are doing in both sessions. I could see somebody definitely overtraining, but if you keep it fresh and change it up, then I dont see a problem. But my suggestion would be to keep it at once a day, and you will still see great results.

good luck with your goals either way. nice dedication

If you have the time and motivation, then go for it. Adding in some steady state cardio isnt going to negatively effect you, and actually may aid in recovery.

Kung Fu huh? How is that?

There's nothing wrong with ' 2 a day ' workouts.

But if you're going to do ' 2 a days ', I'd just make sure your daily nutrition - particularly your ' post workout ' nutrition - is a key consideration for you.

I do cardio twice a day 4 days a week and am fine with it as long as I pay close attention to my body. Obviously you don't want to be doing high intensity every day and if you're feeling too tired then cut out a day. Overtraining is easiery to do then people think.

Some people can pull this off, some cannot.

As already mentioned, the big thing is you'll need to be on the lookout for symptoms of overtraining, as it can occur rapidly and escalates quickly if you don't slow down when it starts.

Also, eating right and getting plenty of sleep at night is mandatory for this kind of regimen.

There's also zero guarantee that you'll shed fat any faster.
