Thoughts after first month of DOIN' IT!

JourneyTo175

New member
November 8th I started a new journey; healthy eating, gym with a trainer, logging all my food (myfitnesspal.com), vitamins, stop drinking diet soda etc.. I've lost 13lbs. What a month, everything has gotten in the way, I was sick as a dog for 2 weeks, my parents came to town for week, Thanksgiving, I hurt my back and my best buddy of 10 years died Thanksgiving night (my dog Maggie). It has been a ride but we're persevering. I have cleaned everything; my business, my house, my car and today my clothes closet. Taking much of my clothes to Goodwill, I'm done with them.

Anyway I just wanted to check in and tell you guys I'm doing good, I started at 263lbs mid year and was 252lbs November 8th and I was 240lbs yesterday. 23 total pounds.

Wow I'm replying to myself. Scary. I guess at the end of the day I'm on here for me.

I'm in my 7th week and my body is really changing. I added Spinning to the routine. Other then that, today's food was good. I've only lost a pound or so the past week but my trainer has been killing me and I think I'm gaining muscle. I started this bursting out of 42" jeans and now I'm easily getting into 38's. My goal is to be in 36"s in 6 weeks. I'm really changing and feeling and looking better.

Nice Job

Nice job on the weight loss! I started in August of this year at 255 pounds- my all time heaviest was about 320 pounds at 5'11" about 2 years ago. This last round of weight loss included running which I have never really done that much of before. It has helped enormously. I too am heading down to 175 pounds. I have lost 52 pounds so far and hope to lose the rest by late spring. Keep up the good work and Good Luck on your journey

That's awesome man. Did your hips or ankles hurt from being that heavy? How's the running feeling? I'm just doing bike and elliptical. My body is starting to heal, I'm feeling less pain.

No, they didn't hurt but it is always better to be careful. Running is coming right along. Have a 5 KM run on New Year's Day- just a fun run and am looking at pushing my running to 10 KM after New Year's. The pain will go away as the weight comes down and your body gets used to exercising again. I started running like 100 m then I had to stop and rest- eventually it was 250M then 1KM and so on until I am running 5 KM pretty easily. I am glad you are on your way to your goal.
