Hi Everyone,
I'm glad I found this site- I'm almost a week into my new weight loss plan and I need all the help I can get. My name is Dee and I'm 40, married w/ children and have kinda neglected my body for the last 6 years. I was always pretty thin, especially after I had both my kids. When I turned 35 and quit smoking, my weight went from 110-115 to 130-140. I wasn't happy, but figured it wasn't TOO bad. The main thing that p*ssed me off was that I couldn't squeeze into my daughter's jeans anymore. I would give up sweets (my main addiction) for a while, lose 5 lbs, then gain it right back when I lost self-control. I figured that 140 was my maximum weight. Well I figured WRONG cuz I have reached 160 lbs this past year! I just gave up, I guess, and started really eating whatever I wanted. I got absolutely hooked on these coconut pops and would eat 6 or more every day. (I won't name the brand to prevent anyone else from suffering the same obsession as I have). I am obviously quite unhappy with my appearance, but the way I feel is REALLY bothering me. My lower back is killin' me, and I barely have the energy to get off the couch when I'm not working. And I was shocked to see that my BMI is pretty close to obese! Sooo- it's time for me to do something.
Here's my Plan:
I'm 5'2" and have a medium frame- I used to be quite muscular. I'm setting my goal weight at 125. If I'm not satisfied with that when I get there, I'll lose more weight. But I think I'll be pretty happy with that!
I started my Weight Loss Plan last Monday at a weight of 160 lbs. My plan is to lose 3 lbs a week for the first 4 weeks, then lose 2 lbs a week until the last week of May, when I will reach my goal of 125 lbs. So far I'm doing better than expected- my weight has dropped 6 lbs this week. I know I can't expect to continue losing at this rate, but it's a nice surprise to start with!
My main resolutions for this plan are...
Exercise 20 min a day, at least 5 days a week.
No eating after 7:00 PM.
No sweets in the house- only occasional treats when I'm out.
Fruits/veggies as snacks.
Keep a diary of what I eat.
I know it will work if I stick to it. I just need to keep this level of motivation and excitement going so I don't give up like I always have before.
Any advice or suggestions are welcome!
