This is the time

if you're having dizzy spells you might want to check you are having enough iron. I take a multi because i get this problem often (even though i eat plenty of red meat) :)

Well Qjay and wishes you have certainly got me thinking about this. It's quite possible I have been a bit under with both protein and iron. I do get confused about this because I am working to eat an in between amount between one plan, which was for pregnancy (probably too much), and another that was 1100 cals (which I'm sure is too low!!) One had 3 serves of protein a day and the other had less than 2. I'm trying to find an amount that works for me and I'm pretty sure I don't have it worked out properly yet. I just checked back to Christmas Day and I see many lunches and some dinners with less than the amount of protein I was aiming at, and only 3 real red meat meals - though also one of pork and tonight veal. I don't really know if they are counted as red. I do take a multi vitamin with 5 mg of iron but I don't know if that's the right amount. I will check with the doctor tomorrow.

Anyway thanks to you both for your thoughts on this.

Thanks to you to txturtle girl. I do appreciate your support.

:D I was so wrapt when I logged on this morning, and the first thing I saw was T2’s diary!! :D A fine start to the day!! Plus we have 3 new mods. Sharing the load - another good move. :D

Tried my 47 min walk going as fast as I could on the grass, ambling on the driveways. It felt ok until half way. My feet were protesting a bit then so I pulled back to my old “brisk”. Funnily enough I find a mental image of our Prime Minister, John Howard is useful for this even though I have always voted against his party. It’s his early morning, green and gold tracksuit, walk - definitely looks like exercise, but not so fast that he can’t answer questions from journos. It took 46 minutes, not as good a time as I hoped due to 3 interruptions, but it felt a bit more like a workout than my earlier walks.

I had a good day - busy, pleasant - had coffee in a coffee shop with my daughter (a treat for us both). I feel I’m getting somewhere with being more organized around the house. I still haven’t cracked it with the bed time. I always have great reasons why it still only almost happened. I do think I’ve made progress with it. It probably isn’t crucial till school goes back at the end of January, but I want to find out how to make it all happen while I’m not under too much pressure.

I wasn’t tired today. I actually felt quite energetic. I love that feeling. Walking faster on my walks is making me walk faster inside I think. This is great. :D It is so long since I did this much exercise. I didn’t join this forum to exercise! :D I have just been infected with it! I saw something about scans showing that it is only exercise that will get rid of fat around the internal organs. That was motivating too. This is such a bonus to have a younger feeling body so soon though!! :D Well I don’t have every day but even sometimes is good!!

I did feel a bit woozy in the afternoon but as I felt relaxed and not tired, today it was easy to handle. I definitely have some sinus symptoms. I also definitely felt hungry. My stomach even growled. A rare event for me. I should have had crackers, but it kept being inconvenient and then I forgot, and then I went for a walk, and then I was cooking for a lo-o-ot longer than I expected…but basically I felt pretty good anyway. Once again, I felt even better after the walk. For safety’s sake, I have booked a doctor’s appointment and will have a GTT Monday.

Hi Felici,
It sounds like you are doing a GREAT job :) And congrats on losign almost 10 pounds already!!

Thanks M2M. I'm hoping 200 lb is not too far away. Nice thing about weighing myself in kgs then converting it to pounds - twice as many mini milestones!!

LOL @ the milestones! You're right :) And it's all worth cheering for!

You're almost in One-der-land! That's a big accomplishment!

She's right, Felici, you've still got a ways to go to reach your goal, but getting into the 100+ land, is a much better place to be. :D
Keep going at it, or I'll start to sing!

way to go!!!!

Wow! You are doing great Felici!!! I bet you are so looking forward to getting past that 200 mark!!! I am so happy for you and proud of you! You are definitely doing a fantastic job of sticking to it! Thanks for all of your support on my diary as well! Wouldn't be the same without ya!

Julie

Hi juju. Thanks. I reckon if I make enough mini milestones, and start talking about them a week or two before I get there and pat myself on the back for a while afterwards - I'll always be celebrating!! Let's pop another bottle of tomato juice!! :D

I smell Bloody Marys in here !! :D

Had to stop in and show some forum love to ya. Oh yes, Onederland will probably inspire you so deeply you'll grind yourself right down to your goal weight in no time flat !!

Though I wasn't 'milestone' oriented, I do have to say hitting numbers of significance really drove me further to keep this effort alive. To me, it's the true reward in this brutal game.

Keep fighting the good fight Felici. :)

Thanks T2. :) I'm sure I have more times coming where I will need to fight. The truth is, right now I feel like I'm being constantly rewarded for just being normal. Mind you it helps that I appreciate little things like noticing that it's a bit easier now to swing my legs in and out of the car. :D

I saw the doctor. I swam with my daughter – not as rough as last time – still fun. I walked nice and fast, but not as far as yesterday. I didn’t feel lightheaded. I decided to eat around the same amount of protein for dinner that most people eat, for now. Dinner was a bit small, + I was tired, + my hubby wanted me to watch tv with him and I did, so I ate more than normal in the evening but on plan.

(Hehe. I bet you thought I couldn’t make my daily post that short. :D )
(Me neither :D )

swimming..

Glad to hear you had a good time swimming! I enjoy swimming but am scared at my weight of falling on the slippery cement around the pool before and after the swimming part of it all! So, until I am lighter on my feet I probably will not be doing that. My husband says I have no balance or equilibrium so that is part of my problem! Well :p to him! He's a klutz too! LOL

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Julie

My husband calls me "spiller"! LOL It's not inaccurate. I am a bit careful about where I chuck my body these days too. I am so lucky though. We went swimming at the beautiful beach, in the waves - with no slippery bits. :)

I'm envious. i love the beach. And we dont have any beautiful beaches. lol. well...not right now. its WAY to cold. lol.

I grew up near the sea. When I was a child I was surprised to find out that there were people who had never even seen it!! Then I found out that some people have the sea without the beach. Well, I'm old enough now to know how lucky I am. It took me a long time to find out that there are beaches near here where you have to really work your body just to stay inside the safety flags - and that that is a good thing. I'm sort of hoping for some more gaps in my daughter's playdate calendar because she is a great beach companion. As far as I know the water here is colder than some places. I still need coaxing to get in, but after that it feels good. Even when it's not nice to swim, a walk on the beach is great.
