This is so hard!! O_O *before* (for now)

Me and you are in the same boat sweetie.
I'm 265, but I am a lot taller then yourself I'm around 5'8 close to 5'9.

Today is also my first step into this new (somewhat familiar) journey.

Hope you can do it and I hope I can do it too :)

Lots of luck and good health :)

Way to go girl, the hardest step I think is taking the BIG FIRST STEP and being honest with youself, one step at a time.
When I started loosing weight I just started by walking every day, or 5 times a week even if it was 15 minutes and slowly worked up, and then once I had lost about 50 lbs I joined a gym and that has really helped me. Exercise also helped me from eating all the extra food, b/c I exercise Im not going to want to eat a 200 calories cookie b/c that'a equal to a half an hour of sweating in the gym, all the best of your weight loss journey

so then start at a lower level... and work up to more intensity.. .

controlling your food intake is the easiest way to go about it - spend some time with the stickied threads i the nutrition forum - to get a base set of calories for yourself -it will be a realistic number that you can live with without being hungry...

Ive seen a few people on this forum keep referring to a nutrition-forum how do I find it??????

lazy ness is the hardest thing to deal with, i know im a lazy ass mofo. the key is to not take on to much to quick, but it must be an everyday thing. it has to become normal. as for exercise dont do the tradition al 3 day a week workouts. instead start out with mini workouts everyday like walking outside for a few miniutes everyday instead of hardcore workouts a couple of days a week and let those few minutes get larger and larger each week. the key is every day. and constant increase in your amount of work. and just never look back.

Thank you all! You all have such good advice O_O

So far I've been walking a lot more than I used to and, cutting down my portion sizes. I will step it up soon though ^_^

that list idea is a great great idea! we have all this head knowledge, nutrition, public or internet support, but the only one that is really going to do it is us. knowledge is futile if action isn't followed.
we wouldn't take our car to a certified mechanic (the guy with all that head knowledge) if we knew he was just gonna sit on it!
remember day by day.
remember "no choice no choice no choice" (i love that one btw, found my new mantra!)
someone's signature says 'slow motion is better than no motion', which is incredibly inspiring.
if i can give you some words of wisdom, besides all that excellent advice already listed, is don't freak out if you aren't where you want to be. you have it right when you say that you need to do it slow, and be consistant.
don't think about that bikini that you HAVE to wear this summer, cuz, for myself, it doesnt help. give yourself tangible goals, things you can notice in yourself. like walking to the corner store without pausing for breath. or realizing you actually stopped eating when you were full. or...(my guilty pleasure) you don't need that extra flavour shot in the iced cappucino at tim hortons, or the iced cap at all!
there are sooo many freakin ways to gauge success, all different ways that don't have to do with the scale. find what motivates you the MOST...and you'll start to see other inspirations. you're going to start finding goals you never thought you would have even had before. you'll start seeing the world differently. you'll get this 'conquerer' mindset. first step, your mind. second step your action. third step...continuous motion.
i really can't wait to hear how you're doing in the future. you are a very pretty girl with aweome tatts i might add. show the world who you are, and dont stop there!
can i quote toy story here? okay...
to infinity--and beyond!

Definitely! I've been working on stopping when I'm full (I know the guilty pleasure feeling lol) and so far so good. I've already noticed a slight difference in how far I can walk without feeling tired! ^_____^

I'm going to cut back a little bit as there is a possibility that I may be pregnant! >_O I'm going to the doctor tomorrow.

when i sorted out my eating habbits i was eating twice as much as i used to but loosing weight. so, in a sense for some people (like me) itsnot how much you eat, but what you eat. also eating at the right time is important - dont miss breakfast! eat only when your hungry, food is there for sustinence not as a cure for boredom or a bad habbit. listen to your body and your (new) mind - do you really need to eat another sandwich?

i began to play tricks on myself. if i had a sandwich a few years ago, it was always 4 bits of bread with lots of filling and mayo and extra mayo on the side. now, ill make 1 sandwich (2 bits of bread) if im still hungry, ill have another one. break old habits, but do it slowly, and make sure you really stop that habit in its tracks. once youve stopped one thing, move on to the next. dont expect it to happen quickly, after all it took all your life for the fat to get there so its not gonna dissapear quickly.

i used to think i didnt eat a lot of food, too, but i did! im maths dyslexic and cant add or anything so i found a way around measuring food, one day when i was hungry i decided to cook a typical meal of mine (about 10 different veg in veg juice and tomato sauce with rice) i made loads of it, and put it in different sized microwave boxes. each time i weanted that meal i would have each of the boxes, and found one size that fills me enough so im full but not stuffed. now i use these boxes for most of my meals - it stops me from having "hungry eyes" and filling my plate full of food i dont need btu will eat anyway cos its on my plate

theres ways around everything, you sound motivated enough! just get out there, find out whats going wrong and work on makingit right
