Hello everyone I'm new to the whole healthy/fitness/diet bit but I'm taking it on with passion this time. I'd like to 1st apologize for my grammar lol :blush5: . Well let's see... I'm 24 years old been over weight most of my life other than when I was about 17 -18 on the influence of drugs not proud of it one bit really only did it to lose weight.

I got my 1st girl friend at the age of 18 turned my life around in the better direction dated for 4 years got a little too comfy and gained most the weigh back. She feel out of love I'm not bitter about it anymore we still are good friends. Dated allot sense then nothing to serious.

As of 13 days ago I started on the well known "subway diet" took all soda out of my diet and stick to just the subs. I eat 2-3 times a day 1 6 inch for lunch and 13" vegi for dinner and lots of water apples to snack on and a table spoon of peanut butter every day for my fiber. On occasion I will have a bowl of cheerios with skim milk for breakfast.

What started the diet was when I went to a store to buy pants couldn't fit in any of them so i bought the largest pair (a 42 mens) that was the day i started the diet! 6 days later they fit and today I must wear a belt to keep them up!

I havent started working out yet due mainly to the nasty weather and funds I'm buying a bike next friday and plan to slow push my self with the distance I travel.

Would love to make some friends doing the same as I'm and support is always nice look forward to beign a frequent poster and nice to meet you all.

Hey Shawn,

Good to have you here!

Good luck on reaching your goals! Do you have any specific goals yet? That can really help you to focus.

Take care!

Hey Shawn,

This is an important step. I hope you truly are committed to improving your life for good. To make this real, it would be good to know what is your current weight and what is desired weight?

Hey all thanks for the replies!

Current weight is 274 (already lost 11)
I want to weigh 185
I'm also 5'10

All over I just feel better in ever way more energy is most noticeable!

Shawn,

Thanks. The more specific you can get about your plan the better. Numbers are the best way to plan. Know how man calories you will eat per day, how many times will you strength train how many cardio workouts.

Just think numbers, and let the plan lead you to lose weight. That way it is not a daily decision but a habit.

i definitely think you should start in on the workouts...because i've seen people (men too) lose weight without exercising, and they tend to shrink up and look frail..and they aren't toned at all..and your skin will sag instead of being tight...if you keep up your diet and work out as well (you may need to up your calories though..to compensate for the workout), you're gonna look hot this summer when you take your shirt off to go swimming!

Hey thanks for the reply :)

Yea ive already started cardio and I plan to start at the Gym mid this month. I've already lost 28 pounds and its going quick ATM i guess i don't feel like i belong int he gym but maybe after I've lost a few more pounds i will feel a bit more comfortable about it but i do plan to tone up for sure I've seen people who lose weight with no exercise they look funny
