The Sag

So I have a question. How much will a belly sag after it’s been fat? I carry a lot of my fat in my belly and I am about 35lbs over what I should be. But I’m really getting to where I’m worried about being all saggy. DX It’s probably dumb for me to think about but I keep thinking gahhh is my stomach never going to look any better? I know it wont look like it did before I had my daughter but I would like some kind of firmness to be there again.

Does this kinda thing just depend on the person?

I’m doing toning exercises so I know I will build muscle.. I just... I don’t know.. It just seems like my tummy looks worse the more I lose.

Any thoughts?

Hi Tammi,

As frustrating as it might be, the best thing is to just keep going. If you keep losing fat, eventually it will disappear in the belly area as well.

Where it comes off first depends on the person.

May I ask what exercises you do, as you're referring to doing "toning exercises"?

I might have used the wrong name for the exercises. I have a workout ball and I am doing all the ones that come with it to start off. There is 4 or them but they are like the cruch. Then I started a video that works on all the body parts. I would like to get a video from jillian michaels that works your whole body too. But I am working my whole body with what I'm doing now.
If you have any suggestions.

The thing is, there might be a bit of sag at first, but eventually your skin will tighten up on it's own. 35 pounds is not a huge amount, so you won't have the sagging issues that someone who lost, say, 200 pounds or so would have.

Now, how long it will take for your skin to tighten back up will depend on your body. Age does come into play too. Some people swear by various products to help with that, but most of them are basically types of lotion. I don't know how much it helps or not, but it would seem logical that properly moisturized skin would have more "bounce back." Also be sure to get pleanty of water!

If you are still worried, just think of every woman who's given birth. Not every mother out there is walking around with saggy belly skin. It'll bounce back, don't worry.
