Hi everyone!
I'm new here, so hopefully I'm doing this diary thing right...
I started seriously trying to lose weight and get fit Fall 2006. I started at 160 (although I went up to around 170 at my highest), and currently my last scale weight was 150.8. I'm 5'7", so I'm actually "normal" BMI-wise! This may not seem like a lot to some of you, but I've been in the overweight range for so long that it matters to me.
What I'm doing, exercise-wise: I've learned to love exercise. I either work out in the university gym, take fitness classes at the gym, or do various calisthenics/dance at home. And then the occasional hiking trip or night of dancing with friends. I do a few minutes of calisthenics every day, and generally have a long workout session 3-6 times per week.
As for food: I like to eat organic foods when possible, and prefer a pescetarian diet. But this is hard at the dorms, so I generally eat whatever is there, except for red meat. I use to track my foods and exercise. When I'm at home, I try to zig zag my calories, but at school I just generally try to not be a pig...too often.
I still overeat sometimes, and sometimes I eat very unhealthy foods with no nutrition. And I don't beat myself up over it, because I think sometimes you need to treat yourself. Plus, not eating that slice of chocolate cake usually just means I'll binge eat on crackers or something not so great later on.
So that's where I am right now, I guess. I'm trying to lose weight. I'm also trying to get more toned. (I do weight training usually once or twice a week). I'm also trying to eat healthier and be healthier, in general.
That's all for now. Happy losing, everyone!
