The new girl in town...

Hey guys! I'm Kristi, and I was just browsing and happened to come across this site. It seems like a very positive, motivational place to be!

So I guess I'll get right into it. I am only 17, a junior in high school. I am 5'4 and I weigh 135. My freshman year I weighed about 120, and I was in the best shape of my life. I was a starter on our hs soccer team, and I could play the whole game without coming out once. Buuuut, over the past 2 years I have gained around 25 pounds, and with my senior year sneaking up on me, I want to get back to 120. I want to completely shock the heck out of my coaches this summer, but more importantly, I want a soccer scholarship.

I started to work out and eat healthier in mid-January, and I have done a pretty good job of keeping that up. I started at 145, and I have lost 10 pounds since then. I am so proud and excited. However, I think these next 15 pounds are going to be a killer, and I need all the support and motivation I can get. And that's why I am here!

I look forward to getting to meet some new friends here! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like you already have the swing of things from being in athletics. The best form of support from these forums is to start a weight loss diary.

Best of luck to you and watch out for those teenage eating habits, stuff like soda can be a killer!

Hi Kristi, and welcome to the forum.
One thing you might try is high intensity interval training for cardio (HIIT). Do a search on HIIT on this forum and you'll find a lot of posts about it. And it would really help you with soccer, too.

Im actually doing an HIIT program now...I've worked with a personal trainer and he had me doing a 20 minute one on the treadmills. It's hard but it definitely worked! Thanks!
