The Motivational Generator!

Thax LaMaria :)

Some photos I took while enjoying the mild morning sun in my backyard ... Day one feels like a good start. Very please I have approached things as I have.

Waterfast Epic Fail :( - No matter ... I have learned much and will remain optimistic despite the those challenges that I'm unable to peg. Acceptance will help keep me on track. I'll be back once I have rested. Give it a few weeks ... see what happens. Just feeling disappointed - but then I know for some reason, I always bounce back ... more balanced each time at that.

PS - I was that wound up today, that I did not place the white queen on the white square, nor the black queen on the black square. I did at least get White to the Right correct. (correct placement of board) :)

Sorry to hear it, dude. Hope the wife gets better soon! Finding what works for each of us individually is excruciatingly hard, and so many people who find their own way go on to pretend their way is what everyone else should be doing. But as you say: there are no miracle cures. It sucks to have to break off something after preparing so much, but maybe water fasting just isn´t the thing for you. All the best for all of you.

Much appreciated LaMaria. Nothing is wasted with me. I always seem to come out the other side all the more wiser for my efforts. I think water fasting still has it's place for me, however I ... (woops ... just hit enter ... still making this post :) )

....where was I ... Yea ... I just have to be very careful when picking my times to do water fasting. My history with anxiety and it's toll among other sensitivities make the environmental factors a little difficult to set up for successful water fasting. I believe I can still do water fasting, but don't think I will try again for some time. My older kids still rely heavily on me, as too my wife. Adding to that I am getting worse with my functioning ability and whatnot as more demands are placed upon me. Perhaps too much info but quite relevant and needs factoring in.

The good thing is that I am back to making challenges for myself each day. Routine is extremely important to me.

My wife is feeling somewhat better thanks.

Speaking of routine ... is time for my walk.

Here's to wishing us all a good day. :)

Dave, I find even doing a semi- fast( 5:2) often has me feeling very emotional. I wouldn't even contemplate doing a water fast. I don't ever watch videos on my computer as I have a lousy internet data allowance. Hope your wife is ok. Here's to a good day for all of us. Take care, xo Cate

Hi Cate. I was able to glean some benefits from 5:2 re discipline, however I does not offers the deeper internal cleaning that water fasting is renowned for. Although the 5:2 book that sells the concept of intermittent fasting hits on fasting and it's healing benefits - The process only beings 36 hours without food ... without any form of calorie consumption whatsoever during that period. I have read of the benefits after 16 hours of no food (No Calories Whatsoever/Water Only) however I do not consider those deep cleaning. Further more, since the process requires sustained days on end to further promote a deeper clean - intermittent fasting lost it's appeal to my aims. It did however start the ball rolling with controlled portion size and seeking to eat nutrient dense foods. For that - the 5:2 concepts was really good ... although I have been reading many people tending to eat empty calories as they favor more the lowering of numbers and less about nutrients. Not too much thought goes into the chemical reactions that take place after eating either; which other results in simple carbs like pasta and the like, being processed in the gut into sugars. Low calories meals that unbeknowns to those less in the know, result in more than they bargained for. Gr

5:2 is great - I did the calorie counting, but made far better ground once I learned more about the food I was eating and what takes place once it goes in as well as what it's mixed with. Food combinations and reactions can last up to 16 hours. Then there is also the factoring on broken physiology that what works for one does not mean it works for another, but sadly taste is what is often view as the primary deciding factor for most. Once that happens, people will justify and give in to marketing statistics.

Srry ... mean not to preach ... just sharing how it is that I have moved on through the different methods and or approaches to weight loss.

I hear what your saying about data limits. Australia is like the worst for that kind of thing. I keep data limits in mind when making my vids, and there is also data options such as selecting 144p which is virtually like just streaming audio with a very pixly picture. None the less, I don;t even expect to get more than 2 hits. :) Doing a few videos is just another way for me to express is all.

I have decided to make my next Project a Video on what I eat and how I prepare it. Discussing the tools I use as well as food transport and storage will be a large part of it. How cheap I can go, yet make the healthiest choices within my limits is also a major factor of importance. I also want to present some of the psychology that goes into making such a routine a successful lifestyle.

That's me know goal. Something I know well and within my limits. :)

Hi Dave. Doing 5:2 has really helped me to focus on getting the most nutrition from the least calories on my "fast" days. On the other days I also seem to want to eat as healthily as I can, so as not to waste that effort. We all have to work out what suits us best.

Glad to hear its working well for you. I found a good watch on eating once a day. Not sure if that's for me, however it has some good info in it.
