The loose skin problem :/

Hi all :)

Introduction bit: Well, hello everyone, Im adam, I'm 19 and Im from Worthing. Im looking forward to meeting you all :D

Main reason why im here:
I went on a drastic diet and over about 8 months lost in total 5 stone, I now weight 9st 6lbs, and Im 5ft 8inces. This was just on a diet without exercise. Unhealthy, I know, but nevertheless there is not a lot that can be done about that now. The problem I face now is that, as you can guess, no exercise and diet alone coupled with drastic weight loss means ive got a fair bit of loose skin around my body.
Ive got a few pictures to show you the extent of this:

As you can see from the side, its not too noticable, and it doesnt bother me too much looking like this... (and yes i know ive got a women's figure lol)

When I put my hands on my hips and really push towards my tummy, this is what happens...

Now im comparison to others ive seen, i think ive got out of it fairly well!! it could be a lot worse. but, its still annoying for me and id rather not have it :( Ive bought a slendertone belt and Im using it hoping that building up my abs will fill out the skin a bit, but in total honesty, id rather look skinny than muscley, having big abs doesnt really interest me. so is there anything, besides surgery, that can be done to assist this problem?

Im aware of the fact that there isn't a lot that can be done to retighten loose skin, but Im young and hopefully have a better chance of thinsg going back to normal. so, how long roughly should I be thinking this is likely to take, and what can i do to assist my body along the way? :)

thanks
:)

Your skin will tighten up over time and you will see improvement. How long and how much is dependent on your age and how long you were over weight. Congrats on the excelolent progress that you have made and give it some time. Start excersizing to firm up your muscles and see haow far you go. If after 6 months you are still unhappy with the loose skin then see a doctor for alternatives.

I have the exact same problem and same story on how i lost the weight, and yes we do have the consequences to put up with in that result,. ive done alot of research on how im going to get rid of mine, first of all i wouldnt give it 6 months i would give it at least a year and yes i reckon your stomach will improve, . i too am fustrated and down about my stomach and it wasnt until i found this forum wether i was sure if mine was stubborn fat or loose skin or combination of both with so many people telling me different things. whatever it is ive come to the conclusion that im going to give myself a year or 18 months to try and get rid of it, in that time im going incorparate strength training excersises and interval circuits and cardio which its going to include weights( proven to burn fat better while keeping lean mucsle) on doing that my diet is going to be cut clean eating alot fresh and organic mostly raw veg, salad fruits and eat white meat and drink alot of water. im also taking supplements such as collegen tablets , multivitamins and omega 3 and whey protien shakes ive also bought coco butter firming and toning lotiob specifically for loose skin. i reckon with consistentcy, time and patience it will go. but i will save up money while doing it because if im one of those unlucky body types where my skin wont bounce back then after the hard work and the end of the 12-18 months ive still got that hang then i will op for surgery. surgery should always be the last option when all else fail.
