I´ve always asked my self this question:

When is better to exercise morinings or afternoon???

I have asked this question to many of my friends, and the answer i get is that they feel more energized during the day when they do to the gym in the morning...

But the question is, does it make any difference when you are trying to loose weight (fat) and get toned???

I really appreciate any comments!!!

if you'd read around the forum you'd find the answer to this question but the simple answer is...

the best time to work out is when it fits into your schedule.. period...

It won't make a hair's worth of difference so it comes down to what Mal mentioned above.

If working out in the morning means depriving yourself of sleep, it is definitely not better. Working out is good for you in general, doing it a certain time of day will not provide better results.

Allways have worked out in the afternoon/evening, im not a morning person so it would take me alot to even get to the gym! A good session in the afternoon gives me a better nights sleep!

It does not make a difference if you workout the same amount of time in the evening as you do in the morning BUT for me I prefer to do mornings

I hate waking up in the mornings it sucks so getting up even earlier to go to the gym is hard but after the workout is done it gets nearly completely erased from my memory. I get to work and it's just like getting to work on any other day. I don't feel better or worse than if I did if I hadn't gone and worked out.
I don't have to thing about needing to go work out yet after a hard days work.
And when I am thinking about going to the gym that night I don't think 'Man I was just at the gym and now I have to go again tomorrow and ugg this sucks'
I think 'going to the gym tomorrow... wait did I go to the gym this morning?...oh ya I did go to the gym this morning'
I don't know why but it makes it seem like I am not going to the gym as much as I am which makes it much easier for me to go.

I'm more lively and motivated after I work out in the morning, when i work out at night i feel tired and ready for bed. I like both... so I do both :) Psychologically If you enjoy it more one way or the other I'd go with that. If you enjoy something, or at the very least don't despise it as much. You're more likely to stick with it.

More importantly, In my opinion, Establishing a routine that you follow will definitely help with compliance.

I wake up, make a shake, load my ipod go to the gym. I come home cook for the day if necessary, go to work. Get dressed at work, go to the gym. Come home, read. go to sleep. Repeat

If i need to mix it up i go bike riding in the morning.
