I thought it would be a great idea to get all of our experience in relation to weight loss into one thread. What I'm thinking is using this thread to post the "best" weight loss tips, at least the ones that have worked for you.
To make this thread easy to read through, please just state your tip or tips, followed by the #?. You can also give a brief explanation of your tip.
I will start it off:
Tip 1: Write it down!
This may sound very simple, but it is one of the best tips I know. It is ismply not enough to say to yourself, "I want to lose weight." You need to develop a plan on PAPER and follow it through. Start a food or exercise journal, or even join a forum like this one and start chatting with people about your goals.
Tip 2: Drink Lots of Water
Many times we are simply thirsty and misread the cues of our bodies when they demand to be hydrated. We end up eating when we should be drinking water.
Tip 3: Use Humor!
Many times we look at losing weight as this terrible thing; it can actually be quite fun, and even humorous! Talk to people about your struggles and try to inject some humor into your chocolate obsession or your midnight binges! That way, you will lighten up and see that gaining or losing weight isn't the end of the world.
