The Best Time to Weight Yourself

(topic heading typo: * Weigh, not weight)

When is the best time to weigh yourself? As soon as you get out of bed? Before you go to bed? An hour or so after you eat?

My weight fluctuates during the day sometimes by about 5 lbs. I'd like to keep track of my weekly weight but would like to know if there is a certain time during the day that is the best to do it

Also, why shouldn't you weight yourself immediately after you've worked out? How does that affect your scale reading?

First thing in the morning naked right after going to the bathroom, before having anything to eat or drink.

Actually what I should have said was First thing in the morning , before and after lunch, before I go to bed and any other time I happen to be in the bathroom :) but the one I take the most notice of is the first one of the morning as that's the one I like best.

I always weigh myself first thing in the morning before I eat or drink anything.

Is it normal for you to be 165.4 one day and then shoot up to 169 the next day? I know weight fluctuates a bit, but for me, sometimes there's a 5-6 lb difference.. and it's not just a faulty scale, I checked two. Maybe it might be affected by doing strength training?

My doctor recommended weighting in the morning. It is important that it was after a minimum of six hours of sleep. Indeed, during the day, our weight is very variable. Accept the specified time. I have eight hours Friday morning.
