Hello fellow forum members! I am brand new to this forum, but I find it really great that there is a place for people to talk about losing weight in a healthy way. I am excited to begin my weight loss journey.
I am 19 years old and I weigh about 150-55 pounds (I fluxuate between these numbers daily) I felt like joining this forum might hold me accountable to sticking with my weight loss. I am hoping to get down to 125-130 pounds by the end of May. It is very important to me to do this in a healthy way.
I am going to post some "before" pictures. Let me know if you have any tips. Good luck on your weight loss journey too!!

On a side note: Are there particular things you can do to prevent your breast size from decreasing while losing weight?

Welcome to the forum and good luck on your journey!

Your current weight is my goal weight right now =P I would be happy to be 150 I am 5'10- how tall are you?

Unfortunately there is no way to control where your body loses the weight if you lose 20-30 pounds inevitably some if it will come off your breasts.

You can however look into exercises that build muscle in that area and can make your breasts look firmer/larger.

See you around the forum!

You look great already!

Try and fill up on vegetables. You may be surprised how much vegggies you can eat and feel full with, with low calories compared to other unhealthy food.

Fill up with water. This helps you "feel" more full and is good for you. I drink a TON of water everyday.

If you want something sweet, go with unsalted/no sugar added roasted almond butter. This stuff is like magic. It's almost like peanut butter but tastes better and is better for you. I put some on a brown rice cake (1 tablespoon), with a little piece of banana, it's really good. Definitely better than alot of other junk choices.

I think diet is the most important thing to succesful weight loss. I like how you said you want to do it the healthy way. That's good. Because to lose weight, and more importantly, to keep it off is to adapt a healthy lifestyle, a "new you" if you will. That's why most people diet and fail. They gain it back. They don't realize its a healthy LIFESTYLE, you have to change both your thinking and eating habits. Of course its ok to occasionally have something bad, I do every weekend and sometimes during the week I splurge a litttle bit. Moderation is everything.

Now cardio/weight lifting is also important. Cardio will aide the "diet", and weight lifting will help you maintain muscle mass while you lose weight.

Good luck, you can do it!

Well said, Spark. Great post :)

Good luck to you, Sara! Do you happen to keep a food diary and/or a weight loss chart? That may help you as well :)

Make sure to keep us updated with your progress!

Hello Sara.

We have the same name, same spelling and you are exactly the same weight I started out at. I had DD size before and sadly, I am now a C. You can't really help where it comes from. But welcome to the forum, you are going to do so well. And since the goals, weight and everything is so close, feel free to message me anything :)

Thanks for the support all. I actually kinda need a little help. I can't seem to lose anything. I don't eat fast food, no cookies, no cake or desserts. I can't remember the last time I ate a burger. But idk, maybe I am still eating wrong. I probably eat too many carbs, but I feel like it is all there is to eat. I am at college and there is practically nothing healthy here. I eat salads sometimes but I have kind of gotten sick of them. I go the gym about every other day and do 45 minutes of cardio and weight training. So what is my problem? What should I eat?

Have you tried any shakes?

May I suggest something I take everyday called Boost. There's a few different varieties (High Protein, Plus, Nutritional). The calories vary depending on the kind you get (I drink the Plus version that has 360 calories). I drink only 1 per day. Each variety has 3 different flavors; vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.

Chocolate is my favorite :) You wouldn't think it fills you up because it seems like such a small container, but after drinking one and waiting about 10 minutes, you may be surprised at just how full you feel.

It can be a tad pricey. I pay about $35 for a case of 24, but it's a been a staple for my weight loss and it's worth it in my opinion.

You should be able to find them at your local grocer if you're interested :)

I would prefer not to do shakes. I feel like they are a quick fix, and I want to be able to keep the weight off. Plus, I am a college kid with not much money to work with

What are you currently eating now? Can you write us a few days worth of a food diary? Maybe even start a journal in the weight loss diary section- writing down everything you eat and the exercise you do can be very eye-opening

Good luck on the weight loss! This forum has been great for me. Ya I've only lost 20 lbs but it feels great to have lost those 20 lbs.

luzdafuzz is right. This past week I started a online calorie counter/how much I've burned a day. And it really has opened my eyes to where I can improve. I am hoping to lose another 20 soon using this approach. I am using fitday.com. I'm sure their are others like this forum has a section for them. I am just using one that has charts and such.

And good luck again!
