So guys i thought it would be a good idea to set a group up for peeps who are aiming to loose 30-40 pounds! Im 19 and am planning on shifting about 40 pounds but lack motivation... so thought this would be a good way for us with similar goals to gather and share what works for you!! So if anyone has any successful eating plans or advice share them here!!! Thanks guys!!

That's what I have a lack of right now, motivation. I need motivation to finish! This sound great! :)

Hey ehinata.. wow you have been really successful with your weight loss!! Well done.. you must be feeling great and so u should be!! what has been your weight loss plan??

Yes, thank you I have been very successful and I feel awsome! Everyone at work is jealous. My plan has been exericising everyday (need to get back into that..school has taken presidence) and I had been counting calories. Now I mostly just guess because I know what things have what amount of calories.. mostly like 1200 - 1400 a day.. which is low.. I'm bad at counting calories.

Ehinata,
That's a good idea. I used to count calories but it is really tough since you have to measure everything too. I did keep a notebook and list and measure everything I eat. Also counting the number of glasses of water I drink in a day since I am bad at drinking water. Drinking water aids in weight-loss compared to drinking juice, soda, coffee, liquor or any calorie drink.

You reminded me to watch my calories again. I didn't thought that work for me then, but maybe it's because of lack of persistence. Otherwise, it should have worked for me as it worked for you.

And that's true, exercising everyday is also a plus. Diet, exercise and supplements. Good looking actors, and actresses do it, especially models, so why can't we.

I fail to check the quality of the foods I eat as long as I count the calories, so meaning I tend to eat unhealthy or have unbalanced diet as long as I make sure I eat in small amounts. I take Centrum performance to supplement the vitamins that my body needs that are not found in the small portions of food I eat.

When it comes to counting calories, my dietician suggested "The CalorieKing Calorie, Fat and Carbohydrate Counter". It is a book that tells you how much calories there is, let's say in a piece of carrot or 1 pound of brocolli. It also have a list of restaurants and the number of calories the food in their menu contains. Like for example Applebee's steak or a turkey sandwich from Panera bread, etc.

I stopped counting calories and I should start again. I am in for the 30 pound challenge.

:D

sounds good to me! i would like to lose about 35 lbs. i have gained since i graduated high school. everyday i feel more and more like an umpa loompa. lol. i also lack the motivation though. i will work out for a while and then i just give up cuz i dont see results. im in.

This site really helps me keep track. Now I remember that I weighed 148 last April 12 due to my last post. Now I am 141.

For the past 3 weeks, I exercise at least 30 minutes a day 5 times a week. I make sure I do some weight training in addition to my cardio. Muscles help burn fat when you are idle.

I also do an every other day diet routine. What I do on these diet days is fill up a 1 pint canister with fresh fruits, any kind. Then I eat these fruits in small amounts every hour for 10 hours the entire day. A pint of fruits could only be about 450 calories. In addition to these I also eat 2 servings of yogurt that's about 110 calories each. So In my diet days, I only consume about 670 calories yet I never feel hungry since I eat every hour on the hour for 10 hours, then a yogurt before and after, thus filling me up for the entire 12 hour day. On those days, I don't diet, I eat anything. But since I didn't eat much on my diet days, my stomach is smaller on the days I don't diet thus making me full sooner. That makes me eat less on those days I am not on a diet even if I can eat anything.

With this diet routine, I lost 7 lbs. in 3 weeks. Healthy weight loss is loosing not more 2 lbs the most in a week. So even if 7 lbs does not sound that much, at least I know I am improving.

Believe it or not, in these three weeks, I did eat cheese cake, fritos, cheetos, tacos, and other none healthy foods including alcohol intake. But since I eat in small amounts, and am on a diet every other day, it balances everything out.

I'm about 172lbs right now and I'd like to get down to about 135 which is 37lbs.
It seems like a lot to me but then I think about this article I read not too long ago about a man who lost 1000lbs through diet and exercise (monitored by doctors). Can you believe it? It gave me such motivation to continue on since the amount of weight I need to lose is so minuscule to that. I'm almost embarrassed to think I can't do this. We can all definitely achieve our goal or 30-40lbs. Good luck everyone!

:)

A few months ago I was 165lbs.
I'm now 153lbs.
My ultimate goal is 125lbs.

40lbs I'll have lost altogether, sooo.. I'm in!

I'm not doing so great this week. I've been eating bad, didn't lose.. didn't gain.. and I've just ate a bag of crisps/chips.

I fancy a run on the treadmill anyway, so I'll try to burn some of that off.

Good luck to you all!

Sounds awesome! I am about 163lbs and want to get down to 125, so that puts me at 38 lbs to lose. With this great group of gals motivating it should be no problem! :)

I'm new. I'm also desperate and really hoping this site will help. I'm 5'7 1/2" and like 153 pounds. I want to lose about 40 pounds (no more than 43) by the end of summer.
I do tae bo, and I'm hoping to add a lot of walking, dancing and jumping on the trampoline during the boring parts of summer when I normally would spend hours accomplishing absolutely nothing. I'm going to count calories religiously--aiming for about 1,500. I'm going to try to stick to very basic foods: fresh fruit and vegetables, milk products, grilled meat, raw nuts.
Today was my cousin's birthday party, and I spent the whole time running from the camera. I hate feeling like I have to do that. Being fat is horrible.
**Edit**Noticed some people are worried about me...um, hello, brain blip. I'm not sick in the head. I meant "20 pounds (no more than 23)".

I thought the same thing...I'm a tad bit worried about the weight loss goal there. Why do you feel it's necessary to lose that much weight if I may ask?
