Thats it, I am doing it!

I keep telling myself that I am going to lose this weight and I keep giving up. Well I am done! I am going to do it this time! I think what my problem is is the first couple of weeks I expect to see a big weight loss and when I don't I think I can't do it and give up. Well today I went to the store and got some snacky stuff that is pretty healthy and counted out servings putting 1 serving in a plastic bag, so I have like 1 for each day. I also printed out a pic of myself before I got pregnant with my first DS and the most recent one I have of me so I can hang them on my fridge. I am going to start tomorrow. And I am going to do it this time. Does anyone else have any tips on how to keep yourself on track? Any tricks that you have come across that works? You sound very motivated - read through some of the forums and you will find how others have lost and kept off the weight, remember we are all in the same boat.

Hello and welcome! The best thing you could do, and you've probably already started doing this, is to get any sort of high fat / high sugar junk food out of the house. Congratulations on the steps you've taken so far, it sounds like you're being really active in getting on track.

You may see a small weight loss pretty quickly, but I know how easy it is to be discouraged. `A week and I'm the same weight! Why do I bother?'. I sometimes think my mind is trying to trap me into eating junk! :)

You could keep on track by keeping a food diary. I had a little notebook that I used to use, and it was a very good motivator. `Hmm, I could eat a donut... but I would have to write it down'. It stopped me from binging on a few occasions. Perhaps if you feel an overpowering need to eat something you know you don't need, you could go for a walk, or play with your kids or something. Anything that gets you away from food and thinking about other stuff is good. Bonus points if it makes you move around and burn calories!
