Thailand MMA training camps

Hey everyone,

I'm heading to Thailand early next year and am seriously considering spending a solid amount of time at one of the Thai training camps in Phuket.

I'm just wondering if anyone on here has been to any of them and what their experiences were there?

How much attention do you get from the trainers?
How are the facilities?
What's the standard of training like?
How busy are the camps?

These are the two I've been looking at seriously:

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys.

I’ve checked them out through TV and internet. What most say about them is very positive.

Only draw backs was that they under feed you. They feed you exactly what they are eating but most westerners (fit or unfit) need more nutrition on a daily basis. This is easily remedied with cash to eat more.

Most training facilities start with a morning run of about 7 miles, every day. Then train twice a day for about 2 hours for each session.

Typical Morning Session
8am – 10 am
Skipping, stretches 15 minutes
Shadow boxing warm up 15 minutes
Sparring or clinch work 30 minutes (3 rounds of 5 minutes)
Gym exercises (weights, speedballs, chin-ups etc) 10 minutes
Pad work 30 minutes (3 rounds of 5 minutes)
Bag work 10 minutes (3 rounds of 5 minutes)
Warm down 10 minutes
Typical Afternoon Session
4pm – 6pm
Running 20 minutes
Shadow boxing warm up 10 minutes (3 rounds of 5 minutes)
Sparring or clinch work 30 minutes (3 rounds of 5 minutes)
Gym exercises (weights, speedballs, chin-ups etc) 10 minutes
Pad work 30 minutes (3 rounds of 5 minutes)
Bag work 10 minutes
Warm down 10 minutes

Thanks a lot for the great info mate, really helped get an idea of a typical day. 7 mile run is pretty massive! I'll have to start getting out there running a bit more if I plan on going.

I've been looking at Tiger Muay Thai, has any one been or heard anything about it specifically?

Sounds intense, how long do those camps usually last? If i had time on my hands i'd hop on down to Thailand and join in. I'm hoping there isn't some sort of language barrier there that you can't overcome though.

They would probably have one guy that could talk to you, if not more. The camp can go as long as you want, a life time, learn their language. Too cool.
