Teenager looking to lose weight...

Hi,
My name is Kelly and I'm 16 years old.
I really came onto this site for motivation. I know what needs to be done in order to lose weight, but I can't seem to start actually doing it!
So I made myself a promise:
- Starting tomorrow, I will start a rigorous diet that include intense and moderate daily exercise along with healthy eating choices.

My goal: to lose around 20 (or more) pounds of fat by September, and maybe put on some muscle weight. Other goals include getting fit and toned, increasing flexibility and whitening my teeth...:p

I realized that, although I'm not THAT overweight, I don't feel comfortable in my body and I am so out of shape. I really want to be confident in my body for my senior year!

The problem is, I just don't have the determination!! But starting tomorrow, I WILL try, and I WILL report back to this forum for motivation :)

Thanks for reading!

Kelly, welcome! Making the decision to start is the first step. But don't start tomorrow, start right now! "Rigorous diet" and "intense daily activity" sounds scary, something I would not want to do short term, let alone long term.. Start small. Start doing things you could do the rest of your life. Eat less, move more. Multiply your weight in lbs times 10 and thats pretty much a ball park estimate of the amount of calories you can eat a day and lose weight. Exercising is good, but don't do too much too quick. You gotta build up. Make it fun. Remember that losing weight is not something you do for a while, reach your goal, and then celebrate and do whatever you want again. The choices you make to lose weight are the same choices you will need to make to maintain your weight loss the rest of your life. Good luck!
