Here goes. Thought I'd start this to track my progess and keep myself in check.
I'm a 26yr old female. I maintained my weight within 15-20lbs through high school and college but after I got married and we started having babies it all went downhill. We're now offically done with the baby making part of our lives and since I'm nearly done nursing, I figured it's time I start to get serious about getting this weight off and modeling a healthier lifestyle for our kids. Although I was eating fairly healthy (no fast food, no junk food in the house, etc.), I was eating too much and too often and other than walking around the park with the kids, I had no intentional excersize. I want to live for a long time and not just show my children the "do as i say, not as i do" attitude.
I'm 5'1" and when I started consistently working out and changing my eating habits 3 weeks ago, I weighed in at 214lbs. As of today I am at 206. My ultimate goal is to get down to 130. I know for my height that probably sounds a little high, but I am a naturally very curvy woman (have been since about 12 lol) and that weight looks and feels good on me. Which means I have 76lbs to go.
My goal is to try and lose 10lbs every 6wks. Which puts me at my goal weight sometime in January 2011 (so far away ah!) If it goes faster/slower than that, I'll adjust my goals, but I'm HOPING beyond hope it goes faster. I'll defenitely have to maintain my focus on my 10lb goals rather than my overall goal otherwise I think I'll get frusterated with the amount of time this is going to take.
I'm pretty much on my own in this. My side of the family (my mother, father, and sister) all live an extremely healthy lifestyle through their diet and activity level, but unfortunately they live 8hrs away. My husband's side of the family are pretty much horrible with their diets and I'm pretty sure they don't even know what healthy food looks like. My husband (who I could smack for being naturally tall and thin lol), is very supportive of my efforts even though I have to force him to eat whole wheat anything or any type of fruit or veggie.
I'm getting my excersize through Walk Away the Pounds videos for now. I'm going to have to move on to more difficult work outs. I have done some of Jillian Michaels workouts before and liked them, but they kicked my butt and I'm defenitely going to have to work up to it. : )
Anyhoo, I'm sure I'm writing to myself, but it's good to put it all out there. I am NOT going to fail at this. I WILL find the willpower to get to where I need to be to be healthy. and I WILL maintain a healthy lifestyle for myself and my children.
YAY for a healthy start!!
