I am supposed to introduce myself huh? Okay...
My name is Lynette, I will be 30 this July. I have 3 kids, 2 boys, 1 girl. Oldest is 10 and youngest is 3. I am getting divorced, currently separated but still cohabitating...you can only imagine! But, I will attempt to keep posts related to weight versus that, but as you know..emotional eating. I will be strong!
I am in education, (special education, looking for a job currently). I consider myself educated with a BA in History, MA in SPED, and working on second Masters in Curriculum & Instruction.
I have tried being raw after gall bladder surgery, did well on it until I went back to SAD (standard American diet). I missed eating foods like pizza, lasagna, enchiladas, etc. For those of you who don't know..raw is fruits, veggies, non-cooked or processed foods. No meats, no breads.
I am seeing my doc next week to be put on phentermine and to start B12 shots. So, we will see. I am otherwise healthy, labs show great health, BMI does not.
So, that is me!

welcome to the site...

glad to have you here and hopefully you'll find the support here that you need as well as some fun too :)

I gotta ask, why are you considering phentermine... I'm not a big fan of medication< i know it's necesary for some people, but the side effects just seem too great to risk taking it...

anyhow- look forward to reaading more from you :D

I have only been successful at weight loss when my calorie intake is next to nothing- like 200-800 calories. When I have watched what I eat and tried to keep my calorie intake at 1200-2000, I basically maintain weight and that's it. I have lost weight three times in my life (this means the numbers drop period, not significantly, but just drop). The first time was when I was in HS and ate an apple and half a tuna/apple sandwich a day with A LOT of exercise. A LOT= 2 hours of hard swimming, running twice a day, walking, and 200 crunches/leg lifts, push-ups. I was able to lose 20 lbs that way. Otherwise, I gain a good 10 -15 lbs a year. The other time I lost was due to 9 months of morning sickness and nothing stayed down. The last time was when I did the Master Cleanse and fasted- I lost 30 lbs. After I lost it, I was able to maintain at about 1000 calories, but missed certain foods (I was all RAW) and never exercised.

I am finally at a point in my life that I really want to pick up running. I enjoy exercising, it's just hard to do with so much weight on you..so I am hoping for a kick start with phentermine.

Additional WHY? My doctor has been monitoring me and my health is great because I do enjoy exercise, I am just overweight. He knows how frustrating it is to try and keep calories that low and then binge because I am so hungry. So, we are hoping this will control the binges.

I am just one of the many people out there that can eat raw foods and the only way to lose weight is through low calories.

I have a wonderful doctor...EXCELLENT! He knows the difference between starvation and fasting, the importance of changing your routine every 3-4 weeks so your body doesn't stabilize, things like that.
