Swimming...

Hey I'm new around here but I noticed that most peoples exercises don't include swimming on this forum. I'm just wondering if it's as good for you as something like running/jogging (For weight loss)? I've been going to the pool recently instead of the track cause I get "shin splints" or whatever they're called and can hardly walk after/the next day :S Thanks for your replies! :hat:
 
Yes it is just as good.

I used to swim, but got out of breath to easy after 2 lengths so now i just stick to running mostly.
 
Swimming is a great overall workout! It's easy on your joints and for me liberating. I love swimming and don't even care that I have a few rolls as I wear my two piece. Swimming is about me and for me. I usually go to 24hr fitness to swim laps.. haha.. well, I try to swim laps.

If I go with a friend, we're always trying to race each other to the other side of the pool. Great way to get motivated and push yourself.

I've always heard that swimming is a great exercise, but I don't like swimming. I'm afraid that if I jump into the water, people will mistake my tubby body for a baby seal, club me to death and try to make boots out of my skin.
 
haha i think i'm gonna get myself a gym pass and go 3/4 times a week! i'll see you there too :p

as for that last reply i really dont know what to say, but laugh :p

im stoked for being down 2 pounds since yesterday though! miracle =)
