Sushi nutrition...

Okay, I really love sushi!

Love it! love it! love it!!

Mainly when I eat it I go for the Tuna or Salmon nigiri....

those who don't know it's the sushi where the fish/meat is laid on top of the rice...

Anyways... other than the obviouse risks in eating raw food... is there any benefit in eating raw sushi over cooked fish? And out of the fish available at most sushi bars like salmon, tuna, yellowfish and ect,... what is the one that is most packed with protein?

Thanks in advance for any answers/opinions...

Well, the protein in the fish hasn't been denatured, so it's definitely easier to digest. Protein that is heavily denatured is extremely difficult to digest. When I can eat raw, I will.

I love sashimi. I can't be bothered with seaweed and rice. It just adds carbs that I don't want.

I love sushi also, my favorite is tuna and salt water eel, mmm! but I always spend to much money when I go out for sushi.

i like the kinshi, i know it isnt the most authentic but its tuna, celery, crab, rice and yellow roll, its very good and it has tuna, rice and celery, i know those are healthy

Raw fish is great, cooking alot of food get rid of a ton of the good nutritional value and properties to a food source. raw fish is very low chance of infection and very high amount of nutritional benifit that you would never get from cooking the same fish.
SUSHI it's the best there is.

i am also curious how healthy the california rolls are and how many is considered a good meal portion

Ok well yesterday I went out to this nice lil' asian resturaunt and had 2 plates of Tuna and Salmon...

OMG, I love sushi but man I think the best part is unlike any other food by eating just the raw fish and rice... no other garbage... The "full filling" is so nice... It's a healthy feeling of a "full".... If that makes sense lol...

Thanks man that's exactly what I wanted to know!

I know some places have slightly differen't sizes of pieces or rolls...

but I believe 8 pc's is a full roll so I would imagine a roll or two is a fairly good and healthy size meal. Just my opinion... But I'm the one here asking the original question of the nutrition of sushi so take it for what it's worth lol....

I love sushi as well but the 'healthy feeling of a full' is debatable considering it's starchy white rice but like I can talk because I eat it often as well as rice paper rolls yuuuuuum.

I'm not sure man, but I know this much - I eat venus roll in quantity and doesn't do me any harm ;-)

I don't like to get too technical with my diet. Balance is all I want, and sushi seems like a wonderful balance to me.

alleycat

I love sushi, its really good...

Besides that my Chem teacher said once her husband had a patient with a case of mercury poisoning, and they ate sushi every single night for like the past 3 years. So don't overdo it but still eat it alot lol.
