Surgery Is Messing Me Up...

All four of my impacted wisdom teeth were extracted on Monday. They were all completely impacted, so they had to drill away bone to take them out. Needless to say, I am in a considerable amount of pain.

Anything that has to do with using my mouth, is painful to do. This includes eating. Things have gotten progressively worse since Monday. I have been reduced to water, V8, yogurt, apple sauce, cottage cheese and (extremely) soft canned vegetables. Things that were a normal part of my diet including whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables and chicken are completely out of the question for now.

I should be starting to feel better this weekend, so I was wondering if there is any process I should go about in order to ease my way back into eating normally again and while I'm still in pain, what sorts of foods should I eat in order to have my diet be as healthy and balanced as possible?
Also,
Is it safe for me to begin exercising again?

What should my calorie intake look like? Obviously I'm not eating as much as I should...is that going to end up hurting my weight-loss progress?

Thanks for any advice you have for me. I'm a wreck this week.

I would just take it easy for a couple days and not worry about strenuous exercise. Maybe a nice walk....something that's not going to make you clench your jaw *ouch*

I had my wisdom teeth out last year and the pain subsided fairly quickly so I think you'll be back to your normal self again by next week.

As for food...simple soft foods, you don't want anything getting into the incisions and getting infected.
