I'm going to start weight training.....well lifting some dumbells around. I've cut a lot of foods out of my diet, and wonder if I could benefit from using some kind of supplements.
Yeah, I agree with Steve. Start off learning how to get the most nutrition out of your food - then if you need to later, you can look into supplements if you feel you need them.
Totally agree with the posts above - for most gym users a well balanced healthy diet is enough. Remember that weight training builds muscle, not protein supplements as some companies would have you believe!
thnx guys. I saw that I wasn't getting enough fiber after keeping a food journal, I started wondering what else I may not be getting enough of. I guess I could of been more specific.
heya....i'm not sure if you were referring to food supplements or vitamin/mineral supplements.
if it's food supplements i agree with the above posters that the best form of nutrition is getting the nutrients direct from the source, the fresher the better.
otherwise if its vitamin/mineral supplements your referring to then i think a multivitamin tablet would be good, i also take a cod liver oil tablet and a glucosamine sulphate mineral tablet (since i worry about my joints). that's all i can think of for now.
