Supplemental Protein

I'm 5'9, 21 years old, 180 pounds. i've been working out for the past 4 months or so (bike/weight training), and i've added quite a bit of muscle and lost quite a bit of fat. I've still got a little bit of fat left to lose (right around my abs) but I don't really want to get any "bigger." Im pretty sure that I don't get enough protein in my diet - I try to get as much as I can in there but according to guidelines of .8 gms/kg (which, if i understand correctly, is a conservative estimate anyhow), i definitely dont get enough. Will supplemental protein help me lose weight (as opposed to just helping me gain muscle)? I'm going to keep weight training but at high reps and relatively low weight so as not to bulk up too much.

One more quick question if anyone can answer it:
With respect to my diet, I find myself hardly EVER eating lunch anymore. I'll have breakfast in the morning around 10 am (eggs, canadian bacon, sometimes toast), and some sort of meat at night for protein, and some veggies, at around 830-9. ill usually have one snack in there around 5 or 6 when im done exercising, a granola bar or some cashews or something. this seems to work okay for me - i dont get hungry and i dont get tired. but is it unhealthy?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and respond :)

idealy you should have 6 meals a day if you dont feel hungry all day try a little smaller breakfast or have it earlier.

the only thing protein really does is build muscle(well you need it to build muscle) and muscles burns calories in turn fat, just to excist. if you want that last little bit of fat gone just keep doing the cardio, but you need a clean diet. as spockafina always says, "abs are made in the kitchen", clean up your diet a bit more and that last little bit will go away.
