Suggest me a bike plzzz

Hello All,

I am new to USA, I live in MN. I wish to go to my gym, 8 miles away on a bike. I am not really sure to which one to get. My budget for the bike is 100-200 bucks. So can some one in here please post your reviews and guidelines to buy a bike to meet my need.

100-200 for a decent bike isn't much... I wouldn't know where to suggest one for brand new, and I don't think I could. Used bikes are pretty much underrated in my opinion, I buy a lot of them and I've never had a problem. But $100-200 for a road bike that won't break ect.... would be sort of hard to find
 
I agree, best thing to do is look in the newspaper, you might come up with a bargain there, but be sure and get one that fits you size wise, otherwise you won't enjoy it at all. Maybe you should just save your money for a while and then go to a local bike shop and see what they can fix you up with. Good Luck and happy bicycling!
 
Depending on the terrain, you will need a different bike.

I'm guessing you will be taking roads? If so, buy a nice speed bike / street bike. What brand doesn't matter, as long as it's gears work good, and has a good number of them. I would just recommend buying a used one. This is what I did, all speed bikes are the same in my opinion, all you need to do is fix it up a bit.

If there is offroad biking, you will most likely want a mountain bike. I recommend a downhill bike. These are VERY pricey, and get up to about $500+. If you plan on doing a lot of biking, I would say it's worth it... They are great to use.

If you want an average bike, just buy one with front shocks, and has a normal amount of gears. You should be able to get one for just over $200.
