Sport Sugar Intake

Sport Fitness
I try to avoid having sugar as much as possible. But was just wondering is it essential to get some sugar into you? if so how much.

Maybe some extra info on having sugar. My training consists of alot of gym work and alot of running. As i am a long distance runner.

If you know anything about this area, Please leave a post.

Cheers

You don't need sugar to survive or anything like that.

A lot of people like to drink some high GI carbs and some protein post workout to refill glycogen stores. Depending on for how long and intensely you usually run, drinking some glucose+protein during training might not be a bad idea either. During and PWO is the only time I'd advise taking in fast carbs like glucose.
