Hello all! So, yeah, I'm a 26 year old male. I am around 5'8 and i way around 195 lbs. For the longest time I did not think of myself as overweight at all, only recently has it dawned upon me just how large I have become. I would like to lose at least 25 pounds, but I am unsure how. Motivation is not an issue as I have no trouble eating healthy, staying focused on my goales/working out...the big question is of the calorire counting variety. And here comes the stupidest question probably ever asked on these boards: with calories in/calories out...am I assume that say I eat 1000 calories a day, I would have to burn at least 1100 calories to notice any sort of difference? I have been running on a treadmill 5 days a week for two weeks now and, wow, 400 calories for me(if the machine is to be believed) is around 3 miles. Now I do this twice a day, so I'm burning 800 calories...300 short of 1100. So does that mean I am not burning any fat? If this is true, I have to admit I am discouraged. I will continue eating healthy, and working out at my own pace, but I don't see how I can be expected to run more than 6 miles a day if I want to drop some lbs.
Now, hopefully I have this whole thing convoluted here and I am just confused. Please excuse my ignorance on the issue. Any replies would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
