Stretch Marks

Shea butter can help a little but really there's no magic treatment... you might try , it's for pregnant bellies but it's supposed to work really well. If you find something that helps, let me know. Yours sound like the ones across my back. They just aren't pretty!

I didn't get one stretch mark when I was pregnant with my daughter, but my big ol' thunder thighs have stretch marks on them as they ballooned over time. Luckily I'm quite fair skinned and they don't show as well...still I hate them.

Only being 19 I wouldn't worry to much about your skin stretching back. I think you will be fine. The only thing is that rapid weight loss is not really a good thing for the skin, so try to consistently lose weight over a decent period of time. 2 to 3 pounds a week is really the best and one of the best thing I can recommend is exercise. I am currently resistance training just to tone muscle, but it gives the skin more to cover instead of just leaving the skin there to hang. I am not bulking out or looking like a weight lifter just toning up, and of course drink loads of water it is great for the skin!

i know you guys are saying creams dont work, i am trying to find something to just lessen the sight of them, im not asking for them to be completley gone...any creams that do anything? even if it is something minute?

how long does it take for the marks to turn white? i noticed some people that have stretch marks have white ones...

thanks

You can't rid yourself of stretch marks. Like any other material, skin has an elasticity limit. When it reaches (and exceeds) this limit, it stretches. When you lose weight your skin might become tighter, but the strechmarks will always be there. They will not have their characteristic pink coloration (they're only that color when they're in the process of getting bigger) - they will turn to a color that's a little lighter than your skintone.

Vitamine E oil is good if you're trying to make them a little more discreet.

bump for some good cream or lotion to start using. i will try this and hopefully lessen the appearance of them.

thanks.

I strongly suggest to make an oppointment with dermatologist and ask him to advise you what kind of cream is best for you. We all have different skin types and our skin reacts differently to the same product. I would not go with over the counter creams, they are not effective in the most cases - you will end up simply loosing your money. Stretch marks will never go away, unfortunately. I know that certain massages can make a big difference in treating stretch marks. My friend had a course of massages done and had a great result. Also, the best way to prevent stretch marks is to try to keep the same weight:) .

yeah too bad there isn't any laser treatment for it or something. I've had my share of stretch marks when I was weight lifting. They were red. not really pleasant to look at

Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E

Pierce Vitamin E capsules and squirt the oil onto your skin.

The marks are never going to dissapear completely but with the above and a little sunshie to help hide them you will be ok ;)

A stretch mark is a scar of sorts. Mederma will help them fade.

I have noticed also... my highest weight was 170 and I am now 135... the more weight I loose, my pregnancy stretch marks are getting smaller and fading more.

goodluck

from what i've heard, stretch marks eventually fade and most of the time go away or you cant tell that they're there, but i have yet to see for myself

Stretch marks (like most things) are mainly controlled by genetics (ain't life grand?) Everyone is different, some people's fades, others' don't. No lotion or cream will change that, but the fact that so many creams and potions get sold just goes to show that people refuse to believe it.

stretch marks!?

I got some stretch marks around my arms and i was wondering:

do they go away if you lose weight?

They do fade quite a bit, at least mine did from having kids but I'm not sure if they go away completely. I had heard that if you break open vitamin E capsuls and put that on your skin that it really helps. I haven't tried it though so I don't know for sure.

Stretch marks fade considerably. It just takes some time. Your skin should bounce back some, it really depends on your age, genes, and the way you treat your skin. Vitamin E and Cocoa butter might help them some but, they never completely go away. Just a fact of life. You are not alone. I have some mild ones on my sides and arms just from growing when I was a teenager. They have faded into almost non-existence and I barely even notice them anymore. Most of my friends have them too, whether it was from growing, weight fluctuation, or pregnancy. No worries :)

They go away with time, last year I had stretch marks on my stomach that were a pale red/purple. I can't see them anymore

Yes they do fade over time. I have different ones from different years and some are almost non-existant, while others (the more recent) are a reddish color. Just give it time. They are tears in the subcutaneous layers of fat so there isn't really anything you can do to make them go away. But don't worry too much, the worst judge of you is yourself, other people will never notice them.

I have a lot of stretch marks.. Ive been wondering about this myself... I get itchy in the area and I end up having stretch marks there ... like on my stomach ..sides of my stomach ... underarms ..across my arms ..etc ..

Im really scared the ones on my pectoral muscles will always be there

Im scared of not being who I used to be ..emotionally I am better ...physically I am slowly getting there, but I have been bad the past couple of weeks with my diet and I don't want that to continue ..oy vey ..it was just soo hot this weekend .. I have two things of ice cream ... Now that I think about it ..it probably won't kill my diet ...as long as I don't do it again ..
I am still weighing down my sixteen pounds that I have lost ...
if I take care of this, before it gets out of control again .. I can probably continue to lose weight .. I need to walk tomorrow!

ugh .. wish me the best ..

always
