Stretch Marks AFTER Weight Loss

So, I have pretty much come to terms with my stretch marks and that they will be there forever. But, I am just wondering if by the time I lost the weight I want to, if the stretch marks will thin out and lighten? Does anyone have any before and after photos of stretch marks after their weight loss? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated :)

They do lighten over time. They'll turn a shade or more lighter than your skin tone. Tanning...makes them pop out more.

I think your skin just tightens as much as it can and they become very thin. I know KTJean said that she had quite a few and can barely see them now.

I was wondering the same thing :)

I think it depends on how big you were, for how long, and on your age. I have seen people who've been big and their stretchmarks are nearly invisible after weight loss, but I have also seen some where the stretch marks actually got worse and more visible because the skin was so loose and saggy. I think it depends on the individual and a lot of factors.

That said, giving your skin time to adjust (meaning not loose weight too quickly) and giving it loads of TLC, like regular massages with oils/lotions and stuff like that will probably help. I think there are some vitamins/minerals that supposedly help the skin to tighten a little as well, but I am not sure about that.

I have stretch marks on my boobs and they have lived there happily for about 10 years now, they were awfully purple in the beginning but now are just a tad whiter than the rest of my body.

However when I began my journey I had just discovered a new stretchmark on my thigh, the first one on my inner thigh. I started to lose weight shortly after the discovery of the horrible stretchmark and this one has vanished.
I think because it was fresh enough, when the skin went back to being closer together it healed. Or maybe I just can't see it anymore...
