Strange weight loss problems...

I've been very careful about my calorie intake and exercising for the past few months, and while I've noticed an increase in strength, energy, and I look healthier, the scale shows that I'm slowly gaining weight. It's not much... I've gained about six pounds in the last three months. Obviously not a huge concern, but I want to loose all the fat on my abs, chest, and legs.

Stats:
- Male, 19 years old, 6'2", 255lbs.
- See my lifting workout here (only steps 1-8 now, I don't do that whole thing at once anymore)
- Cardio is usually 40 minutes of running which equals about 4 miles, or an hour of DDR on heavy or challenge (the two hardest skill levels). I try to do this at least three times a week, although I do fall short some weeks.
- This is an outline of my meals, although it isn't perfect. I'm a fulltime college student and a part time retail manager, so it's hard to have a perfect eating schedule.

Breakfast: a bowl of this stuff, skim milk

Snack: Ham and lowfat cheese sandwich with mustard on wheat bread, or sometimes an apple or orange.

Lunch: Varies. Usually a sandwich with ham, turkey, no cheese, and veggies on wheat bread, sometimes a very lean chicken sammich with a salad, sometimes three peices of pizza with a salad (this one is rare), but I always eat this meal with a protein shake.

Snack: same as other snack, but sometimes it's just pretzels and beef jerky, or something else low fat, low calorie, and somewhat filling.

Dinner: Same as lunch, and again, always with a protein shake.

Snack: Same as other snacks.

I always have a protein shake right after workouts, of course. I kind of wonder if I'm eating a bulking diet or something. The thing that baffles me is that, to myself, I appear a little leaner and stronger, but the scale says otherwise. I also have a large frame - broad shoulders, tall, ect, so I'm never going to be one of those people that weighs like 150lbs, but I don't want to be either. I just want to get my BF% down, but my current plan doesn't seem to work.

Another thing to consider is that slow metabolisms run rampant in my family. I can't remember the technical term for it, but I do know that my mother in perticular has to take medicine for it, or else she'd be one step above comatose all the time. :p Being that I'm young and otherwise generally healthy (i.e. I'm never sick, don't have any reoccuring bodily problems) I don't think this is huge, but then again, it could be when calorie counters tell me that I'm supposted to be taking in an upwards of 4500 calories a day. I'm not sure how right that number is, by the way.

Sorry for the long post, it's just that I'm getting really frusturated with it all. Any help would be muchly appriciated. :)

effffffffffff the scale.....go by the mirror how you feel, how you feel you look, how your pants feel on you, little things like that, how often have you been weighing yourself any way?

Also:

1. Muscle weighs more than fat. You have probably gained muscle with the training you are doing
2. Your weight can fluctuate greatly depending on when you weigh yourself. Try to weigh yourself at the same time each time (preferable after you wake up and have gone to the bathroom) and dont weigh yourself too often.
 
I always weigh myself when I first get to the gym. I do understand how the human body can fluctuate greatly in weight, and it makes sense considering how much the digestive tract can hold.

I have heard to not really pay attention to the scale... but I dunno, logic seems to say to me that I weigh too much anyways. Of course, as long as I'm lean, I won't care what I actually weigh, but I figure that in the end of it all, I need to loose weight.

Also, I've been told by doctors that I have extraordinarily dense bones. Could that be part of it?
