I looveee my oatmeal.. that or an omelet is the best way to start my day.
Enjoy your day..its gorgeous here!
:D

To answer your ? i love my elliptical. it's one of the crosstrainer models(the kind with arms that move) :D i'm so glad i bought it, it take's up less space than a treadmill but probably more than a gazzel.
it gives you a great work out for the legs(i lost almost 5" since jan,off one leg!!! :) Yeah coffee gives me the jolt i need to wake up in the morning
it's beautifull here too :)
the lakes,is that state side or in cnd  (geography not my stong point)

no..dont worry i suck at geography... i think i slept thru it. Id love to do the amazing race but im afraid i wouldnt have a clue how to read a map or where the heck i was!
it would be fun though huh!
I live in NH ..the Lakes Region.. Meredith actually. We have some very beautiful lakes & we get lots and lots of tourists.
Thanks for the info on the elliptical..i tend to jump into these things and then they end up holding my laundry so im gonna wait this out. Im doing the walking and on my off days i have sears version of a total gym which i like very much and i do that also. I like Taebo also.. Billy Blanks is quite a guy.. he is very motivating...and he scares me that hes gonna kick my butt if i dont get movin. I hate all the skinny chics on it though.. show me a fat girl sweating! That I can relate to!

I LOVE the amazing race i was watching it last night :) thats why i'm so sleepy today. my husband thinks it sucks he hates all reality t.v.
but his opinion doesn't matter much ;)
work out videos are always like that little skinny twig things jupping around in the background never breaking a sweat ( like that's motivating  )
Thanks for the geography lesson! i'm in ontario not far from cornwall :)

My husband is exactly the same way.. weird huh! I love it.. and I love survivor..but i wouldnt do it ..cuz i wouldnt be able to fit that buff over my fat a@@ :-D LOL
Anyway.. im doin ok w/ my food diary..but im finding writing it down makes me think about food too much and im hungrier more.. So i think im going to start just writing it in the evenings.
at snack 1 I had 5 macadamias & a slice of cheese & decaf green tea w/ splenda

Lunch: 1.5 cups of chili w/ a slice of whole grain bread & a pear

snack 2: 1 slice of lean turkey breast, 1 cube of cheddar cheese and 1 slice of avocado.

Dinner: 1 piece of tyson breaded chic.. salad, green beans & peas

96 oz of water... after dinner will be another decaf green tea w/ splenda

Thanks for your support
Also... for exersize i did 2 miles this morning w/ stairs for 10 minutes, another mile at 3pm ( more easy paced w/ the kdis)

I love survivor too! i just don't get to see it anymore(no cable and we don't have the dish yet :(
i'm the opposit i have to write it down major ocd when it comes to it, i have a tendency to forget  what i eat when i don't,
as long as you don't do that i think you'll be fine :)

:D keep it up and you'll be wearing that buff in no time :D

OK.. today was a good day so far...
I worked out 30 minutes doing weights and my resistant weight machine, 10 minutes on the mini trampoline, 35 sit ups, 20 to each side, 20 push ups. I also just got done doing 15 minutes of jump rope (very hard & my 57 yr old mother did better :-D)
I also did 35 more situps, 20 to each side also...
Food;
B: 1 slice whole wheat bread w/ 1Tbsp peanut butter, 1 packet of oatmeal no sugar
a skim milk lattee 16 oz w/ 1/2 a shot of hazelnut flavoring (30 cal) no sugar.

Lunch: 1/2 a low carb wrap w/ 1 slice of lean RB, lettuce, pickles, tomato, 1 slice of provolone cheese. 1/4 cup of sliced peaches, 1 small lemon square (had to have it)

Snack: 2Tbsp of red potato salad 1 slice of turkey w/ 1 cup of salad greens..no dressing

Dinner: sloppy joes ala ground turkey on spagetti squash ( no bread) salad on the side, sliced fresh fruit 1/2 cup.

Water : 96 oz
1 cup of decaf green tea before bed

This feels like a good day and Im feeling in control..hopefully tomorrow will bring that again & hopefully also better jumping rope skills. a 30 minute jump rope workout burns an estimated 360 calories..so its worth trying
thanks

so was the jump rope w/ or w/out the rope. let's just say i'm to klutzy for the rope kind i just have "simulated" rope... now if only i could get a simulated model body that be great.
glad to see your day went well
:) keep it up :)

Ok.. I have to add 2 pepperidge farm cookies...120 calories..
I guess watching survivor made me worry about not having food :-D LOL just kididng. Anyway i figured w/ all the fiber i had w/ dinner id be ok. Yeah , Thanks Jen..I have to say I love spaghetti squash...i got turned on to it when I did the south beach diet.. and I love it for lots of dishes. Its like having an aldente pasta..w/ maybe a bit more crunch and lots and lots more fiber. By the way ..my name is Kathy.
Anyway..I wanted to also tell you that I did some research on the mini meal thing and Jen you were sooo right! I am reading out of this new magazine by the people who gave us "people" mag. and they are saying that usually the reason people dont lose when they are dieting is because they are limiting themselves to too little food & not frequent enough during the day. When we dont eat something called our Resting Metabolic rate nose dives and our body basically stops burning calories..this increases as you reach 30 and over....so this was a really great article. Lots of other good stuff in it too..very worth the $3.95
thanks again guys..have a nice night. How about that survivor huh! Im so glad Steph is still there. She is an amazingly tough woman

I'm so envious of you, i don't get to watch it :( nobody has vcr's anymoreso can't even watch it second hand.
i have been doing the mini meal thing since someone suggested it to me on the site and i've got to tell you i really like it i find i'm not as hungry thruogh out the day, and i actually have to up the calories more cause i'm not eating enough :) something i've never had to say before that's for sure

sounds like your doing great :D i wouldn't worry about the cookies too much, we should always make room for a treat once and a while :D

I definetely know that when i tell myself i cant have something at all its like i rebel against my self..and end up eating too much when i finally let it go. We have 2 birthday parties this weekend...very high calorie..but im going to limit myself the best i can and try to just excersize and drink my water...Life goes on..we just have to keep up.

2 b-day parties in 1 weekend! yikes  ! i know what you mean we had 5 of them last month(and that was just for my kids b-day/ my familly is nuts when it comes to stuff like that) just try and have a small pc of cake(i could eat a whole b-day cake to my self they're yummy!)and drink lot's of water like you said you do what you can :)

my good news for the week is 4lbs are gone! i find this site so motivating
have a great day!

Wow..congrats smiley..that is fantastic~ this site is great. Im actually starting my own website... I found this site so helpful and have found in general that women help women so much and that we all are so much alike and have so much to share..my site is under development but its called fightingforselfesttem.zoomshare.com and Its more of a sharing website..and about embracing ourselves as women and celebrating where we all are in our lives..
well anyway.. back to the food
I have done pretty well..I had 1/2 a whole wheat (6 grams of fiber) at breakfast w/1tsp of peanut butter, coffee w/ nonfat creamer no sugar.
snack: the other half of the bagel w/ same amt of peanut butter
lunch; went to the 99 and had a fantastic steamed salmon w/ lemon pepper and broccoli and mashed califlower... very very delicious.
I have done 50 oz of water so far...now need to go find a snack as I have 2 cakes to bake.
I also did my 45 minute walk ( 2 miles) this morning 6 am.
I love this site..thanks to everyone ..you help me soo much!

Well... I had dinner which consisted of leftover chili and some sloppy joes.. w/a slice of herb bread and a v8. I also had a slice of cake...just a small one..but i know having it in the house is gonna kill me... oh well..get up and go walk in the morning. maybe jump rope
ive drank about 85 oz of water today... not too bad

uggh..what was I thinking..I had a piece of cake last nite and i woke up feeling nausea big time.
breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled w/ 1/2 cup mushrooms & 2 slices of thin n trim turkey breast w/ 1 slice of yellow america, cofee w/ non fat creamer no sugar

snack: 2 slices of whole wheat high fiber bread w/1Tbsp of peanut butter.

water so far 32 oz
exercize will have to come later after the party today.

Well.the birthday day today was definetely not the best of nutrition..but i was on my feet and very busy..and only had 2 pieces of pizza & lots of water. I went for a long up hill walk after the party for 40 min..and really hoofed it. For dinner we had beef n broccoli, chic fried rice & a couple chic wings... I did have a small piece of cake also. I have drank about 96 oz of water today. Couldve been better but the old me would have had lots more cake & wouldnt have exersized so every little change helps i guess

Kathy,
You are doing so well!
Birthday parties (and any other event aside from day to day living) are hard! Just having the goodies in my house makes it near impossible to stick to a plan of healthy eating. And you are so right that every little change in the right direction helps. Kudos to you! :)
