Stomach vaccuum

Have any of you heard of an inner ab excersise called the stomach vaccuum?? google it if ur not sure, jus wondering if it works...!!

I can't verify the effectiveness of the activity; it is certainly worth a shot. However; I read a few pages saying " you can lose 3 or 4 inches off you waist in just a few short weeks with this activity". That's untrue; unless your doing cardio...
 
Yeah i read the same thing and was sceptial, im not really bothered about losing inches, more about toning and defining abs...ill let you know how i get on with them!

What effect does the excersise actually have,, is it a toning or buliding excersise, and do you have any rep/set advice when doing them...?
 
I consider holding it in 1 rep. I do 4 sets of anywhere between 30-45 seconds of holding it in. I normally do it laying on my back. I know some folks like to do them standing. You can also do them sitting at your desk at work!

I think it helps to strengthen and tone the abs some.
 
Heh, when I first saw "stomach vacuum" my gut reaction (*chortle*) was that it was a post about some quack device that was supposed to "suck" the fat out of your stomach through the skin :)

I'm glad that it's not. This exercise looks interesting, surprised I'd never heard of it before. Good to find one that I can do while at a computer!
