I heard that people sometimes get stomach pains (something to do with the gall bladder?) if you lose weight rapidly from a low calorie diet. Is this correct, and if so why does it happen?
I had this happen on a low fat diet, but not because my calories were low. After I hit my forties I discovered the hard way that my gall bladder just freaked if I went too low. I was fine with low fat (15%) in my early thirties.
I have faced this too. I rapidly lost 28 pounds...and then one day had severe pain and had to go to the ER ; they did my blood test and said that they doubted that it was my gall bladder; the next day they did a sonogram and said it was my gall bladder which had totally got rotten; it had started to spread infection so I had to be operated on immediately. The next day I got operated and the surgeon removed it. The surgeon told me that this does happen when one loses wt rapidly as the gall bladder is over loaded with breaking down the fat.
