Stomach fat wont' go away

I hate my stomach area. When I stand up, it looks normal and i'm all fine with it but it's when I sit down it looks so NASTY. I do 10 minutes worth of ab exercises every other day and there's no change at all. My stomach area is NOT tight at ALL. I'm so angry

Stand up : Awesome
Sit down : BEER BELLY :(

It's so disgusting and I'm afraid to sit down near my friends because they might see.

How can you make the skin on your ab area tighter. It's all loose jelly

80% of your success is your nutrition....

1.) Look up your calorie expenditure...
2.) Subtract 500 calories from what you got... that is your daily intake.
3.) Take that number and multiply it like below...

Daily Intake * .6 = Carb Calories
Daily Intake * .2 = Protein Calories
Daily Intake * .2 = Fat Calories

Carb Calories / 4 = Grams of Carbs
Protein Calories / 4 = Grams of Protein
Fat Calories / 9 = Grams of Fat

4.) Spread your daily intake into 4-5 small meals throughout the day, eatting about every 3 hours...

On top of that you should be doing resistance training about 3 times a week as well as 3-4 times cardio...

Resistance training should be a total body exercise for the first month or two to jump start your muscles. (2-3 sets of 15-20 reps) Your cardio training should be at in interval like 2:00 minutes at a "Easy" pace, followed by :30 seconds at a "Hard" pace, then 1:30 minutes at a "Medium" pace, and then flip back and forth between the :30 seconds at "Hard" and 1:30 minutes at "Medium" for abotu 25-35 minutes...

You can still be active 90 mins a day and still gain weight...

As an example... I burn about 3,000 calories a day to live... If I take in more, I'm going to gain weight, if I take it the same, I maintain my weight, and if I take in 500 calories less (NO MORE THAN THAT), I will lose 1 pound per week if I eat taht for 7 days straight....

So... Let's say I eat 3,800 calories - 3,000 = I'm +800 calories so I'll go ride a horse/workout ... I only burn 500 calories... So my net intake for the day is +300 calories... "But I worked out, I'm going to lose weight"... WRONG!

My problem is I'm not quite sure how many calories are in all my foods. I eat mostly healthy things but the packages don't have the nutrition facts or I'm eating out and I don't get nutrition facts there either

So it seems that I burn 2889 kcal a day... I highly doubt that I eat over 3000 calories in a day. I would hope that I don't. But It's true because I'm not gaining any weight but my body isn't toning either...

feed your body to make gains... you need to have the nutrients to repair your muscles.. pm your current routine with weights etc and we'll see if you need to tweek it..

Trust me... you do NOT need that much... I'm 23 and male, and i burn about 3000 a day... The calculator I used was and I got you at about 2200 calories, so you need to be eatting about, 1700 calories...

is an online food database where you can look up the nutritional values of your food...

Sebani the first order of business is to change your own perspective about yourself..body/tummy included. Think positive, not dreamyland,...be realistic but positive. Send your body, yourself uplifting and encouraging thoughts as well as disciplining thoughts...because in fact that stomach area is simply a manifestation of the inner you on some level.

You are only 16 years old!...advice to you should have taken this into account as your body needs are not the same as someone over the threshold of puberty. While you share an challenge similar to many adults...you not them are in the middle of puberty; body changes, and fat or weight is not uncommon for many teeagers...especially in a time and era of junk foods galore. Several years from now you could look a lot different. There are those very skinny kids but also at teen years theres still a lot of baby fat for some kids and for females that fat is there as a part of the hormonal and health process. On the other hand, if you can find out...is weight a hereditary issue?. If you can, ask your elders if they have had the same experience at teen years with stomach area fat?.

10mins every other day may be too little excercise for you. You didn't say if you do...but how about sports, dance, yoga classes (if you have someone that could pay for these for you), martial arts....get your entire body moving in active and healthy ways. Have fun :) .....IMHO unless you are gravely overweight or special case then at 16 years old weight training and/or fastidiousness about calories and such is overkill, uneccessary and counterproductive..especially unsupervised.

Try not to eat fattening foods, have a limit, don't go to sleep with a full stomach...have at least 2 or 3 hrs between your last meal and bedtime. Don't drain your kidneys...but are you getting a least 2 liters of water a day?. Some people need or have more water...but thats just a basic guideline..you'll have to work with as per your own needs. Get fresh veggies and fruit in your diet as wel as fiber..proper or often enough elimination is also key. Often eating too many carbs will be stored as fat around the belly....but you shouldn't cut the carbs out...observe your body...your diet and see how it reacts.

Watch that you keep your weight in check for your height and body. There is a range of weight gain and loss we can all play per our age and health factors and that range changes over time for some but whatever it is..it is our parameter of self control.

While its helpful to learn from and about adults fitness..etc...find fitness magazines, articles, sites, books that are geared to youth fitness and health as well. ab excerices like cruches are fine but too much focus on them or not enought diversity can pump those abs out unattractively as nice as ever.

Try these excercises standing up straight or as advised for The Stomach Lift, Abdominal Lift

Kylee, that is a very good post. Calorie counting is a bit of a waste of time for most people bcos nobody can EVER know their 'calories out' total.

I have struggled in the past with central adiposity (the polite term for a fat belly) even though I eat well and never drink and I still cant fully get rid of it but I found that changing my attitude to life (thanks to Tony Robbins mainly) made a bigger change to my body than any exercise or diet.

try pilates, it works your transverse abdominous (badly spelt - sorry!) which is like a belt underneath your belly button.

It's great for women who's muscles are slack after babies but will also tighten the area you are having problems with as it's a very deep and strong muscle and affects the posture of your entire body.

do a beginners class first - but if you can work your way up - it's actually extremely challenging...

xx:)
