Not sure if this is the right forum to post this on but hey
neway, ive always been quite thin in the fact and quite fat on the stomach!
my problem is everytime i try to lose weight around my stomach, it does go from there a bit but it also takes more away from my face making me look quite ill to be honest...
is there anyway i can stop this from happening and only target weightloss on my stomach?
Steve is right - where your body likes to store and lose fat ' first ' is largely a matter of genetics.
Thing is, although genetics determines how each individual person stores and loses fat, it does seem to follow a distinct pattern depending on whether you're a man or a woman. Generally it goes like this ( see indent below ) in terms of where fat gets stored first and where it gets stored last between men and women. Again, this is not a hard & fast rule, but simply what happens " on average ".
Men : Loves handles ( first ) - stomach - hips - chest - upper arms - thighs - calves - hands - feet - face ( last ).
Women : Back of thigh ( first ) - side of thigh - hips - stomach - upper chest - upper arms ( last ).
The problem itself is that - men and women both - typically lose fat in
reverse order as to how they first put it on. Again, genetics determines the extent to which that really happens for each person.
So, for men, they'll lose fat on their face first and lose far from their love handles and stomach last. So, when you said, "
i try to lose weight around my stomach, it does go from there a bit but it also takes more away from my face " - I wasn't surprised.
Then again, I'm asumming you're a male.
