Sticking To It!

Hey there everyone, I saw the ideas for a diary and this sounded like a great idea to me! I am about 133-135 pounds (been awhile since I weighed in...could change!) and after losing my first ten or so pounds, I've kind of slacked off....really slacked off. I want to get back on the wagon and go at it again. I'd like to be down to 110 by Christmas...that might be pushing it though? I think I can, I think I can. Being short stinks, because even though my weight doesn't seem high, for my height it is.

So....some mini goals.
-Drink 8 glasses of water everyday
-Run 2 miles a day
-Stay at 1200 calories/day.

That should be a good start? Well thanks for stopping by, looking forward to talking to some of you!

Sounds like a great start :)

I'm sure you'll be at your goal by Christmas, and if not - you'll be a lot closer to it than you are now. That's what really counts. Keep the faith!!!

Hey you!
I was just suggesting that you start a diary! Looks like you've got some great goals and a lot of determination!

Thanks you two! I really appreciate that a lot!

So this morning I am at 133 lbs...just as I expected. My goal by next wednesday is to be down two pounds. That's pretty reasonable I think. I think once I start regulating my water intake (meaning that I actually drink enough!) a few pounds of water weight will fall away relatively fast. I hate feeling bloated and just gross. I've been at higher weights than this and have felt way better about myself because I knew that I was taking care of myself. Now I'm just allowing myself to eat junk, not drink my water, and not really care. It was kind of weird though...when I first started losing weight...I pretty much stopped eating junk food right off the bat and started exercising a lot. I'm not sure where I got the willpower, or how to get it back!! Well, I'm trying.

I have a question for someone....when comparing running and walking, what are the differences? I've got pretty bulky leg muscles and don't want them to bulk up anymore...so I'm thinking that maybe if I was three and a half miles or so instead of running two....that may help me not bulk up? Any takes on this would be helpful!

Hope you all have a great day!

Oh I know ALL TOO WELL what you mean by bulky legs!! I have found that (for me) running is fine on flat surfaces or very low inclines and walking is okay with slight inclines.

I have managed to loose 2 inches on my thighs this way. Too much of an incline causes my legs to get bigger. I don't have any science behind it, just my personal experience. I HATE my legs and have found that walking/running on gravel with slight to no incline has helped TREMENDOUSLY...a lot moreso than the treadmill or the track.

Thanks for the tip! I tend to always just use the treadmill because it's so darn convienient but now maybe I will try walking outside instead! It is definitely work a shot!

What I'm going to do is keep track of my calories and enter them as I go throughout the day...I will keep coming back and editing my post. Will be easier for me when I see. :)

Breakfast:
A bowl of yogurt cheerios with some 1% milk = 170 Calories.
16 ounces of water.

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine BBQ Chicken Pizza = 320 Calories.
16 ounces of water.

Dinner:
Jenny Craig Meal = 280 Calories.
Cottage Cheese = 120 Calories.
16 ounces of water.

Total 890 Calories.

I'm going to probably add in another snack or something for the day.

Thank you!

I find that when I don't keep track of my calories I tend to go wayyy off course, so this is definitely something that helps!

Morning everyone!

Thank you Misslovely! I really appreciate the encouragement.

As you will see my ticker has changed..3.5 pounds! After the first day of regulating water I think my body jumped right back into it. I assume this will go back up as early as tomorrow...but for now, it's what the scale said. :). Heh, I have no problem with that!

Ahh, so I'm making a big leap. I wanted to do something for myself to raise my morale a bit, make me feel good about myself. The first thing that came to mind is clothes. Then I figured I would just be wasting money if I did actually lose the weight....so I took a new approach. I bought myself some REALLY nice MAC make-up ($200 worth!) because I never ever wear make-up besides cheap cover up. The lady at the MAC counter did my make up for me and told me step by step process and all....when she was done, I looked in the mirror and felt SO pretty. It wasn't TOO much but it was just enough to make it look enhanced. I love it. Also, a week from today, I'm getting my hair done! A drastic change to....to darker fall colors! I'm excited for that. Now all that I will need will be to get this extra weight off. :). But it feels good to take care of myself. Just thought I'd share! I did splurge a bit today since I am starting the challenge tomorrow, so I expect the ticker to go up a bit. I'm totally prepared for that and okay with it. :).
