I am new to posting messages on forums so if I am posting in the wrong place ya'll just let me know :) I decided to start this diary as a form of motivation. I usually acheive my goals better if I have someone monitoring my progress and I could definitly use some support. I am currently 175 and its the largest I have ever been. My normal weight is about 140-150 but I would like to shoot for 130-135 so I need to lose about 40 pounds. I have done alot of research on weight loss and meal plans in the past few weeks and I have decided that I am going to lose this weight by eating 1000-1200 calories a day and using my elliptical machine in the morning for 20-40 minutes depending on the time that I have (some mornings are crazier than others!) I would like to lose the bulk of the weight by Valentine's Day of 2006 which leaves me about 3 months. I am not sure if this is realistic or not. As far as my support I am really hoping I can find that here. I have a wonderful boyfriend who is supportive but just not in the way I need. He never says anything bad about my weight gain (he has a put on a little weight too but on his body it just makes him look more muscular, its not fair!!!) but he eats things in front of me that I cant have and just things like that. Here what I have had today so far...

My food for today, 1/16/05, has been as follows:

Breakfast - Bowl of Frosted Mini-Wheats w/ Skim Milk....437
Lunch - Lean Cuisine...290

Thats all I have had so far and that is already a total of 727 calories. I have roughly 300 calories left to eat for dinner, which looks like its going to be a can of tuna. Any suggestions or comments on how to do this the best way would be GREATLY appreciated!!!! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!! :)
 
Looks like you're off to a great start. The only thing I would suggest is making sure to stay closer to the 1200 calories instead of the 1000. Your body will go into starvation mode if you don't have enough and then you will beating the purpose. Also remember that veggies have very little calories so definitely add those into your meals, they'll help feel you up not to mention all the great vitamins. Welcome to the forum I look forward to reading your future posts. :)
 
Your gonna do great and this place is very supportive! I agree with gonnab2cute 1200 is better!
 
Thanks for the support already. Yall are helping me build my willpower up for tonight!! When I get home is when I need the willpower. I never knew it was so hard living with a man. They eat and you think "Oh I can too, no big deal!" but it is. Thanks again!!
 
Hi Stephanie... it is ALOT harder living with a man. Ecspecially when he eats everything and anything he wants and does not have to worry about his weight (as does mine!).... But once you do it for a week and stay strong it becomes habit.. and easy... you just have to stick with it... You'll see! :)
 
I'm from Alabama, hence the "ya'll" :) I think I read an atricle on Yahoo! that said Alabama is the 2nd most overweight state in the country, and it doesnt surprise me one bit. Eveyone deep fries everything down here!!!
 
And can anyone help me get a little picture by my name? I tried to upload one and it just kept saying the "file extension is not valid" and I changed it to every image file extension I could think of. Any suggestions?
 
Hi Stephanie good to have you here by the way. Great name too as its my 9 month old little girls name:) I hear you about a unsupportive man alot of us are in the same boat. Mine can eat and eat and eat and never gain I can watch him eat and gain...Your right its not fair..LOL. Anyway good to have you hear and I will be checkin up on you. I too count calories so its nice to read eachothers journals. Anyway have a good night:D
 
Just changing the extension name of your picture file won't work, what file format was your picture in to start with PM me if you want help editing your pic.
 
I'm going to go ahead and do my daily entry. I'm going to start posting what I had to eat the day before but since I posted half of that info yesterday, I'll just finish up....
Supper: Tuna Melt....375
1 Beer...100
Which brought me to a total of 1202 calories. I know beer is the enemy but thats really my down fall. Between having company or going to parties or meeting my dad for drinks after work, its really hard to just stop drinking so I have tried to just stick with light beers. I didnt make it up in time for my morning workout either. I have heard you burn soooo much more fat if you work out in the morning but I just dont see that happening. I am going to keep shooting for a morning workout but if I dont make it I'm just going to workout in the afternoon. I am also going to weigh once a week instead of everyday and I'v decided I am going to weigh on Mondays and post my results each week. I figure this way my Monday weigh in will be my reminder over the weekends to be good :) I think I got the picture thing figure out too. There should be a picture up in the corner of my post, but if not any suggestions on how to fix the problem would be great. Ya'll are great and thanks so much for being there!!!
 
Glad to see you got your pic working... everyone here is so good looking... who cares if we're all chubby Chickies! LOL
Mmmma tuna melt sounds so good right about now... Mmmmm... .LOL
 
Ok I feel like I did really good yesterday so I'm going to go ahead and post my food from yesterday...

Breakfast: Half a wheat bagel & apple juice....285
Lunch: Turkey Club.....700 (I'm shooting high on this because I got it from a sandwich shop. It might even be more than 700 but I forgot my lunch and I dont have alot of options around my work)
Supper: I skipped this meal since I was still very full from lunch but I had a glass of wine before bedtime...100

So I had roughly about 1100 calories but I was proud of myself because I didnt eat any french fries at lunch and I didnt go home and pig out because I was bored (for some reason, I think thats how I got this way...BOREDOM!) I didnt work out yesterday either but I did this morning so I am feeling GREAT! Morning workouts leave you feeling soooo much better, I love it! I even started that dreaded week of the month today and I am feeling surprisingly well, even though its always the second day that hits me hard. Tomorrow is a big game day for us down here (Auburn vs. Alabama) so ya'll be sure to tune in (CBS @ 2:30pm) for an awesome showdown and ROLL TIDE!!!! I'll be back on Monday with my weigh in results but I might be back if I get tempted or need to vent :) Ya'll are awesome and thanks for everything!!!
 
Stephanie you have a gorgeous smile :) You did do great yesterday!!! If you ever want to look up calories is a good source. Keep up the great work.
 
Aw you are too sweet! Thank you! Thanks for the link too, I have been in desperate need of something like that instead of having to look on the package and write it down everytime, its like "Geez, why dont I just annouce over the loud speaker that I'm on a diet" you know? Thanks a bunch!
 
No problem, that's the same way I was when I started. Believe it or not after doing this for as long as I have you don't even need to look you pretty much start learning all the calories. You're going to have success in no time, don't forget to drink your water ;)
 
Hey sorry I'm a little late but I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. The girls here are great, I love it and I'm sure you will too! Angela's right, you do have a gorgeous smile! You'll start learning the calories too if you eat things regularly. I use calorieking myself, what a lifesaver it can be. haha anyway! You're a beautiful girl and we're glad to have you. Yeah the water part I havent picked up on just yet. I need to figure out some sort of system for when I'm at work. I'm going to brainstorm about it over the weekend and be prepared Monday morning because I have got to start drinking more water!! And thanks coastergirl for the welcome :) You guys are great!
