Hey welcome back.

I'm no expert at this but i'm going to throw my two cents in. Hope you dont mind.

You have made the first step which is to come back here. You might want to read the stickie threads again to re-familiarize yourself and to help you focus. It seems like your main problem is motivation. You start out all motivated and lose your first 15 lbs then lose focus. This time you need to realize when you get to that fork in the road between old habits and continuing on with your healthy habits. When you get there do anything and everything to continue on, find a workout partner, talk to someone, come on here just do something to stay focused. Dont let yourself go back to you old habits.

As far as finding healthy options, i would suggest a couple ideas. First, read, read and read some more. When your done reading, read again. You will educate and learn what foods you want to be eating. You will find healthy recipes and ideas. The second area is preperation. Do all your grocery shopping on weekends, go daily for your fruit so it wont go bad. Just find the time to have those healthy options or you will reach for the easiest food which is always the drive thru or vending machine. Try new foods, this will give you a good variety so you dont burn out from the same old foods.

Finally, (sorry for the long post) and like you said, this is not easy but it is so worth it. All the hard work will pay off and that is additional motivation. Realize this journey is about creating a lifestyle and forming new habits that will keep you healthy for years not just get you to a goal.

Keep us updated, good luck and stay motivated.

One more thing. I keep these at my desk and read them when i have some doubts if it is worth it. (see, we all have those feelings.) Hope they help.

Welcome back Maisie. I understand not having enough motivation to keep going after a few months... and using motivational quotes is helpful, though what's helped me the most is this forum. Try your best, that's all we really can do. Read the stickies, they have a lot of helpful information... and there is also a recipes section that might help you too. Best of luck!

I'm in the same boat. I understand the frustrations and I've had to battle them out myself.

It's a truth that you have to find recipes that are simple and short and work. Try them out. It doesn't have to be today. Just keep it in mind. Maybe one weekend you find yourself on a website with some recipes and you decide it's worth trying one.

I never had to think about food and it's taken a long time for me to wrap my mind around the fact that if I don't take care of myself, then no one will. And that means CARING about what I put in my mouth, CARING about whether I cook or not.

You have to find your balance. That might require a lot of introspection.

Good luck. You can do it. Be forgiving about yourself and work to find the right path for you.
