Starting to Lift Weights

It's funny how each forum has their thing..
My main forum is dedicated almost entirely to splits (with modification of course!). The truth is, both full-body and splits work. In fact, if you have been training full-body and you were to switch to a massive volume split, i bet you anything your results would jump. Probably vice versa as well.

earlier on in the thread Buzz, you said that you don't think that a 3 day split would benefit a newbie. Well, I wish I could show you the hundreds of members on my forum who would disagree with that but it's a private forum, so that just isn't in the cards.
Full-body and splits both offer unique benefits. I am thinking of trying out a full-body routine this coming winter. NOT because it's better, but because it's different. The best training program is the one you AREN'T on. :)

niceone splits have there place, but seing as protein synthesis lasts 48hrs if you are doing a 3 day split this means some bodyparts only get worked every 7 days so this is not optimum.
a 4 day split is better because every muscle gets worked at least twice a week.
the reason i recomend a 3x a wk for newbies is doing the same exercise every workout is better for neural learning better form means they will be lifting heavier and safer sooner.
they will also get more time of to recover (4 days) you might say a split gives more time to recover, not true because there is always a carry over of muscles used on splits, and even though the muscle might be recovered the cns might not. :D
