Starting to lift again

Alright, here's my deal. I have been weight lifting for 6 years now. Normally, I'm pretty consistant with my workouts. I usually hit the gym anywhere between 4 and 6 days a week.

But my life has flipped a 180 in the past couple months. I've been working overtime on my days off, and I just bought a house (those of you who have done it, know how much if your time it consumes) Anyway, I have been out of the gym for a little over two months. This is the longest stretch of time I have taken off in 6 years. The longest previous to this was about 3 weeks.

But I decided that I needed to get back into it because I was starting to feel unfit, even though I visually look just fine. I went to the gym earlier today, and tried to do the same chest/shoulder workout that I was doing when I left off 60 something days ago. I physically felt weak. I couldn't lift as much as I used to, and after 25 minutes of lifting I had to quit early because I didn't feel good, and was exhausted. I usually lift for about an hour.

Has anybody else ever stopped lifting for a significant amount of time, and started up again, and had a similar experience? I'm wondering how long it will take me to get my strength back to what it was before. It pissed me off, because I was so siked up that I finally regained some normalcy in my life, and could back into the gym, and when I finally got there, I felt like I couldn't perform. Any advice is appreciated.

2 months is a very long rest time. No way would you have been able to perform anywhere near as good int he weight room (this happens to me after a few weeks even). Just take it slow at first and you'll get back to where you used to be in probably like a month.

Also make sure your diet is spot on and that you get enough calories for the energy you'll need.I'm sure you already knew that though I'm just saying.:)
