hey people! new here and thought id post on my new start. Im hoping for some hints and pointers. i am an athlete and need to drop around 15 to 20 lbs and gain muscle to be able to make an impact! thanks for any points and help i really appreciate it!

Hey, glad you made it. This is a good place to come for support. Tell me more about yourself - age, weight, height, how you got overweight. Usually the people that really want to lose weight can explain this stuff in detail and it is helpful for us to help you.

Hi bigguy91!
I am also starting my new weight loss programme. Just bought a home gym and trying to focus on lean muscle building and getting fit again. I used to be athletic but I had 2 kids and never really tried to get back into shape. I have been promising myself to do it since my daughter was born - 3 1/2 years ago!!! I'm really serious now as my 30th birthday is in 3 months and everyone has told me that 30 is the best age to turn but I konw I will only feel that way if I love the body I am in. I need to lose 24kgs (52.8 lbs) which is a LOAD but if I can just lose half of that over the next 3 months I know I will be successful in the rest. Let me know how it's going for you!

hey guys

thanks for replying, i am 6 foot 6 and fluctuate from 265 to 270. I am trying to get down to around 250. Also i am 19 years old. I have always been big, never thin and never extremely over weight but could always lose some pounds! any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You're lucky you're still 19! You still have so much time to get into shape before you're too old to enjoy your body in your 20's. Don't be like me and wait till you're 30 before you get your butt into gear. Think about how horrible you feel after you eat junk and motivate yourself to feel great at the end of the day by eating healthily and exercising. "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!" :)
