So here's my story. I'm 5'3 and 22, and most of my life I was always overweight.. well it hit an all time high this past january of stepping on the scale and seeing I was 180 pounds. I realized something had to be done about it, and so I started lightly just going on my treadmill every day, and eating healthier. Slowly the weight all started coming off and by June I was 160 pounds.
In April I joined kickboxing, it's a 1 hour class that I do 4-5 times a week, I don't know where I would be without it.
The problem then started when I was having terrible pains in my stomach and severe acid reflux, and I've never had this happen before. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with GERD and Barretts Esophagus, put on medication and that still wasn't helping. I continued my dieting and hit 150 pounds in September.
I went back to the doctor then and was told i was allergic to Gluten (apparantly Barretts can cause that). So that's when I had to monitor my diet even more. Since then I have been stuck at 145 pounds and the scale refuses to go any lower, (i had my mom go on to make sure it wasn't broken)
I still go to kickboxing more then ever, I joined the gym too so I could get in some extra cardio before going to that class.
Some days i'll look in the mirror and think "I've done all of this for so long, and nothing has changed" .. and then I see people posting before and after photos, and I wish I could look like them. One day at a time.
- August 2010. 180 pounds.
- July 2011, 156 pounds.
- October 2011. 145 pounds.
