standing bb shoulder press ?

I like my legs straight, less presure on back

so legs locked ? i was always used to a little bend .. but ive heard different ways .. so i was just wondering what u guys do

Do this and appreciate the increase in weight-
Use a slight push *drive* with the legs and have one leg in front of the other.

Yea, I don't recommend locking the legs while doing overhead presses. That increases the pressure on the spine. I recommend using a slight bend in the knees to take some of the load.

I def agree, slight bend in knees. Also as Evo stated, you can give a slight push with your legs. Be sure your form is right on, it may take a few times to coordinate between pushing the weight up and driving with your legs at the same time.

i tried out doing the bb shoulder press the way u guys recommended .. i never knew what i could do before .. so basically i did 85lbs ..and towards the end it got tough .. i know i know .. the number pretty low .. i guess my spirit was broken after my bf assessment and then some criticism:(

Hey, don't sweat the weight. I'm only dumbbell pressing 40lbs each arm right now for 8 reps.

besides I see a half dozen guys every night at they gym using tons of lower back and shoulders to do bicep curls because they think weight > form.

another question .. when i do standing military presses .. ive been bending my kneees and giving myself the little push .. i was just wondering does that take away from the excerise ? and basically turning it into a push press ?

If you're going for strength go evo's route, it's tried and true. If you want size give seated military presses a try.

thanks

i guess ill stick with the push press way that evo suggested .. and then switch it up after a few weeks when i swap routines

Oh hell, does my back go crazy when I do heavy seated db pressing.
