Stair Steppers?

Has anyone here had any luck with stair steppers? I need to lose fat in the usual butt/hip/thighs area and I was wondering if a stair stepper was a good choice, since going on the exercise bike doesn't seem to help at all.

Not sure stair steppers will be any better or worse than an exercise bike. If you're not getting results and you've not tried high intensity interval training (HIIT), that may be a good avenue for you to explore for weight loss.

You can try reading the stickies at the top of the forum. To lose body fat you need to expend more energy than you are consuming so that the body burn the body fat.

Read more but its about :-

- diet
- exercise

Important: Read about the spot-reduction myth.

Stairsteppers are good for strengthening and toning glutes and quads, but blackbeard is 100% correct - if you eat more than you burn, you will not lose the fat. You have to eat less than you burn, i.e., your caloric intake must be less than your basal metabolic rate + exercise calories burned.

I agree with what everyone has said.

It's hard to discern why you havn't lost fat. Make sure your eating and exercise are appropriate for you goals. I can't see how a stepper could be better than cycling, jogging or boxing.

It could also be worth seeing the doctor to rule out any pathological factors that may be inhibiting your fat loss like a tyroid test.

These really kick ass. Im 99% sure that this bad boy burns more calories that running for me.

As the others have said, Look at your nutrition before you look at the stepper.
