One Step At A Time
Well Im Sydney and Im almost 18, in the fall Im going to go away to college, and that was my initial reason for wanting to lose weight. I joined this very helpfull and informative site in May (I think?) and since then Ive lost 11 pounds. Recently Ive hit a long plateau, but Im hoping to change that soon. I want to lose 34 more pounds, but I dont have a time limit, I like the challenges in the club section to keep me motivated. Ive been trying to stick to a 1200 to 1500 callorie diet. So thats my intro, and Ive just joined the "Raiders of the lost Lard" group, and Im really exited about this 2 week challenge. :)

Hey Sydney,

I'm glad to see you started a journal!!! :D :cool:

University/school is a huge motivator to get you rolling eh! I start my second year of university and I absolutely have to lose some weight before then because dragging it all around campus is no fun!

Anyways, We're going to kick some butt in this challange! Go RAIDER'S OF THE LOST LARD!!!

Hey Sydney, I think not having a time limit is a good thing. If you want the weight to stay off it has to be a lifestyle change and it's really hard to do that thinking this is only going to take 3 monthes or whatever.

Hi Sydney, welcome to the forum. You are so right be joining the challenges. They do keep you motovated and in focus. Great to have you here. Have a good weekend.:D

Hey welcome fellow raider! I agree with cannon, not having a goal time is a good idea, because then you race to get it off, then slack off, then *poof* it comes right back if you aren't careful. Changing your lifestyle will be the biggest factor! Good luck!

Thanks for all the replys. Boy I didnt realize how quickly a thread can get knocked down to the second page, lol. Well Yesterday was fairly good, I did manage to stay in my calorie zone, dispite the small dipped cone, :rolleyes: I just had to have. Ive just started to try the HIT running program for 20 minutes a day, 10 in the morning, (which I like best, because there are less people out to watch me run :) ), and 10 in the evening. I think its going great, it really makes me work. I didnt go to the gym yesterday, due to working late, but its friday so for me its a break. Oh ya I just wanted to put this in, at work yesterday (I work in a vet clinic), I got to see a C-Section on a pug, which was amazing, and there were 4 little healthy babies born, awww they are sooooo cute and tiny, I just love seeing things like that. New lives arriving in the world, Its amazing :)

Hey all, well this weekend has sucked for eating healthy, weekends usually do for me. I had some pizza AND chinese food today, ughh I just feel horrible after eating all that crap. I have been doing my HIT running over the weekend which is great. And today I went and bought some clothes for school and to my astonishment Ive went from a size 16 pants to a size 10, wow!!!! Its amazing, I never would have thought that I would change sizes like that!

Well Ive decided to actually write down what Im eating on here, so I can keep good tabs.
Breakfast= Oatmeal 2 Go
apple

Lunch= Leftover goulash
handfull of grapes

Supper= small pork chop
2 rice cakes (35 cal a piece, Yay)
cup of maccoronii with tomatoes and cheese

I went to the gym today with my friend, which really helped the time go by faster. Lately the gym seems to be extreamly long and boring, and Im always the last one there before it closes, so the owners always waiting for me to go. Which sucks, but hopefully I can continue to go with my friend.

wow! size 10? That's amazing!

And I think it's cool that you're working at a vet clinic. (I want to be a veterinarian, so it's interesting to know) Keep up the good work!

Hey Sidney,

sorry it's been a while since I posted in your diary, but you are rocking it girl! Way to go on the size 10's!!! That is supper exciting!!! *YAY*

GO Raider's!

I always liked going to the gym with a friend too. It's better when you can talk and laugh with your friends. When you go alone do you have a walkman, diskman or an mp3 player? When I walk alone I like to bring along my mp3 player and play all of my rocken 80's tunes. It helps the time go by faster.

Thanks for the replies, :) . Well this weekend went alright but not great for eating and exercising. Yesterday We ( me and my friends) drove like an hour out of town and went fishing and built a fire and it was really nice to be in the out doors. I didnt catch a fish, I never have, and now its my goal to catch one before I turn 18, lol. I think that I finnally have gotten off my plateau, I weighed in friday at 168 and Ive kept it off till today which is great because Im no longer 160/ 170 :)

xorie- I want to become a vet too, but the competition in canada is really tough, because there are only 4 and soon to be 5 vet schools here.

jennifuffa- When I go to the gym the owner always has workout music going, so I dont bring my i-pod, but if Im working out at home or going for a walk or whatever I always bring my I-Pod, which really does help pass the time.

Thank you for the compliments! Well today I bought a pedometer, and Im trying for 65 kilometers in a week starting tomorow.
Food today

Breakfast/lunch- (woke up at 2, so 1 meal counted as both lol) 1/2 a donut, 1 blueberry muffin and 1 bowl of homemade turkey soup, mmmmm, so good

Supper-some stuffing, bowl of turkey soup, turkey sandwich on a bun, and some grapes

We had a big turkey dinner yesterday so today was yummy leftovers :)

Oh an pedometer. I have a kelloggs pedometer but it only tracks your steps. I've been thinking about getting real pedometer instead of my cheepy free one.

65kms a week that is fantastic! Walking certainly has helped me shape up my muscles toning those difficult areas.

I know what you mean about your thread getting knocked down. Sometimes I really have to search for my journal.

Wow I really should write in my journal more often, lol. But anyways, Ive signed up to spark people its amazing! It keeps track of your goals and fitness and nutrition info, its really in depth. Ive changed my ultimate goal from 135 to 140, because I have a rather large frame. It seems kinda like Im cheating though, shaving off 5 pounds. I dunno, I guess Ill see when I get there, if I want to lose 5 more or not. Well Ive reduced my HIT running to just 10 min in the morning, because 10 min at a time is all I can handle right now, and I dont like doing it in the evening when everyone is out and about (watching, :eek: lol). Well raiders of the lost lard is done, and I lost a pound, which is a good start to get off my plateau.
