Spring 2006...Time for a Change!

Went for another bike ride last night, and set the odometer on the bike - it's actually 4.13 miles :)

Also did some resistance with the Bowflex on my upper body for about 15min. Tonight it is more cardio, probably another bike ride but if I run out of daylight it will be running/walking on the treadmill. I'm gonna have to start the C25k program all over since it's been so long since I did the darn thing!

I took measurements yesterday, I lost in a few spots but gained 1/4-1/2" in others. Ugh. Definately time to get back to exercising!!!

I am so off track I need to get back on.....

I haven't really been exercising. Just a bike ride here or a hike there. But nothing worth getting excited about. I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost any either. I joined the September challenge to help with the motivation. Time to get moving...let's just hope I stick with it.

No Hope-ing here:D You will do this!!!! Gotta get that motavation back up and Just Do It! You were on a roll for a while, So was I but hey Life Happens and like most, we chose to put our health aside. Shame on us:(

But your back and you realize what you want and what needs to be done. We are here for you... Keep your head up and your legs moving:D Have a GREAT Day and drink your WATER:D

Wow. It has been a long time since I have stepped foot in this forum. And it has been a long time since I continued my weightloss journey. My lowest weight since I started was 179lbs, so I have gained about 5lbs back from the total 17lbs I lost from the first get-go. I am more than determined to lose this weight and have been walking 2miles every day since April 30th. If I don't walk, I make up the milage the following day. So far so good. I bought a pedometer and am counting every calorie I put into my body. My goals originally for May were to walk 2miles every day...but I think I may change and walk/run 2miles every other day with weight and strength training in between. Whatever I decide, I am going to work out 7 days a week...if I take a break one day, I make everything up the following days. I am not going to slack and I am going to get healthy again!!

So far so good. Still sticking with the exercise and I have been really making an effort to consume less calories. I have lost 2 more pounds this week, bringing my grand total since 4/30/07 to 5.8lbs lost. So I am averaging about 1.9lbs lost per week. That is awesome. My goal is 2lbs a week to bring me to my goal around Christmas.

Today I am changing my workout plan - going to do the couch to 5k program Mon, Wed, Fri and weight lifting on Tues, Thur, Sat...with a day of rest on Sunday. I know I said I wanted to walk 2 miles every day but my body is starting to get and stay sore. I really think I need time to let it heal and rest in order to benefit the most from working out.

Exercise is nice, I think I am starting to get addicted to it.

I did about 20min on the Bowflex, focusing on biceps, triceps, shoulders, and abs. Then I did 2.5 miles/10min on the exercise bike. It felt great.

I'm down another 1.6lbs this week. I am averaging 1.85lbs lost a week - which is GREAT!! I'm so proud of myself. Today I start W2D1 of the C25k program. Can't wait.

I am really liking the C25k program.

Monday was a little bit harder than I expected. I was starting to get winded 15-20sec before the full 90sec intervals of running. But after the 3rd running spurt I seemed to pull through ok. I think I just needed to pace myself and adjust my breathing accordingly. Yesterday, W2D2 of the program went soooo much easier. I could run at a faster pace for the full 90sec, sometimes longer. I am starting to eat alot better, not needing to make sure I count every little thing cuz those 'every little things' are getting less and less. I am finding myself sticking right around 1400 calories w/out really TRYING. Last month when I first started....and even last year....I had to really be concious of what I was eating and make sure I didn't overdo a serving size. Now I am gravitating towards healthier options which I can eat a little more of but still consume smaller amounts of calories overall.

I have also started using a stability ball for crunches. Holy crap. I did 50 two nights ago and my stomach is still killing me!! I have to say that is the best way to do crunches ever. I have never felt a burn like that in my stomach EVER! :)

OMG WHAT A HORRIBLE WEEKEND!!!! Pizza and vodka on Friday, Wendys & Vodka on Saturday and a huge dessert from DQ on Sunday. And I only did 20min of the couch to 5k on Sunday...no other scheduled exercise. So my weigh in today was 182.4....ugh. Hopefully it is just water weight from not drinking enough water over the weekend, too much salt and PMS.

I definately have to get back on track....blah

So I have stuck to my exercise plan mostly, but I did skip 2 days of weight training. I drank like a fish and splurged with eating junk on Saturday night but was fine on Friday and Sunday. But this still gave me another 2lb gain on this mornings weigh in. I dropped 2% body fat, but still gained 2lbs. It is extremely frustrating but I know I have to stick with it. I took measurements on Saturday and I have lost 1/2" in all areas. That is good. I think TOM has given me some water retention weight but I'm thinking of changing my weigh in days to Saturday so the weekend doesn't have as much of a negative effect on my weight loss progress.
