Spicy Tuna Burger

Since I'm new here I thought I'd contribute my favorite low cal recipe. (This has also become a hit with family and friends I've shared it with so it definately doesn't taste like "diet" food.

One can tuna in water drained
One slice of onion chopped fine
One slice of green pepper chopped fine
One egg beaten
Half palmful of low fat bread crumbs (I prefer Italian breadcrumbs)
Two teaspoons Sriracha hot sauce (Found in Asian food isle. Best EVER!)
Pinch of salt and pepper
One "Light" wheat bun toasted

Mix all ingredients together except use only half of your beaten egg. You can discard the rest as you won't need it.

Make into two patties and cook over a medium high skillet with just a small drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. Cook for three minutes on each side giving it a carmelized crispiness on the outside and a creamy delicious center.

Place bun in skillet and toast then serve!

I began eating this with no condiments or toppings but found that I could make a 5 calorie spicy mayo by mixing one teaspoon fat free mayo with half a teaspoon of Sriracha hotsauce. DELICIOUS!

You can easily top this also with lettuce and tomato but I find the taste to be perfect with just tuna, spicy mayo and bun.

Oh yeah...calories for one sandwich...

Awww yeah!

Enjoy!

Yummy, I bet it is good with a little Wasabe on it too! Thanks, I'm going to try it.

Dude, that sounds amazing! If you could just humour a Brit... what do you mean by "cook over a medium high skillet"?

Can't wait to try it out!

A skillet, is basically just a frying pan. Medium-high would be the temperature setting on the stove that the pan is heated to. Halfway between medium & high.

Dude, I tried it today for lunch! I changed some things to suit what I could get here, and what I like, but wow, what an amazing creation! Plus it's kept me full for the last 6 hours, which just never happens!

Thank you SO much; I am not worthy!

That sounds great! Is it possible to grill these, or are they not going to be thick enough?
